If you have ever gone for a kneebar but couldn't finish it, or the guy escaped much too easily, you might want to take a look at the latest article I've just added to Grapplearts.com. It is called "Kneebar Mastery: fixing the most common mistakes". It was originally published in Grappling Magazine.
Thanks for the article, I really liked it (like all of your stuff).
Most times when I do kneebar I get it, it's my high-percent leg attack, but from reading your article I saw some little things that I can do better. (And people already hate it when I go for the legs... )
thanks kesting, i have your kneebar dvd, very good as are all of your dvds. i wish the prices were alittle lower being a poor college student but for once i cant complain with the instruction, explanations and quality of your dvds
Thanks for the compliments. The kneebar was my favorite submission for a long time and I think I analyzed it pretty carefully in this article.
Beauregard - I didn't manage to finish the ankle lock on Leben but I won the match 4-2. I got a half guard and then an X guard sweep, and he got 2 points when I went for the ankle lock and he ended up on top. I thought that his grappling was very tight, and I was surprised by some of the rubber guard stuff he was trying to pull off on me.
