"Hi, Korean Zombie here. I'm delivering this message on behalf of over 800,000 members of combative sport café, one of the biggest MMA blogs in Korea. We have decided to take the time to speak up for what we know is right, because we do believe this is something that UFC management should absolutely be aware of. Let's get straight to the point.
It's about 'Rising Sun Flag' outfits. And our point is that this design is the symbol of war crimes, and that every single item designed after this symbol of war crimes should be kicked out of the UFC, firstly for justice, and then for the company.
...Let bygones be bygones? Get over it? Unjustified invasion, torture, massacre, military and sexual slavery, medical experiments on living prisoners of war and many other war crimes scarred too many people. It can never be forgotten. This is a tragic history for all of us. Furthermore, the Japanese government never gave a sincere apology, and is even trying to justify and distort their dirty, nasty history. Still to this day, so many victims are dying in pain, heartbroken, without being properly compensated
...I was happy because I thought we have succeeded in educating a chunk of the world on a very important issue, and that we no longer have to see that symbol of war crimes, at least around the Octagon. But a few days later, another UFC champion and the symbol of WMMA, Ronda Rousey was seen in that 'Rising Sun Flag' outfit. Two UFC champions wearing the symbol of war crimes! Don't you think this will be an awful example for our company, which actually does a lot of charity stuff for troops as well?
This sport, mixed martial arts, is growing very fast. And on the top of everything is the UFC. It's been crossing borders with great ease. The event was a great success in Europe, Australia and Brazil, and now it's time for Asia. As a fighter, I'm really excited and happy to see the sport growing, but I don't even want to imagine UFC fighters in those outfits, especially in Asia. A lot of furious, heartbroken people will boycott the UFC, leading to a loss of a lot of (potential) fans, which will end up leaving a very bad impression on the Asian market. I mean, can you imagine our fighters in Nazi outfits in Europe? For us Asians, it's nothing different."

So in short Ronda Rousey is a war crime.

After living 2 years in Japan and 1 together with a half Japanese/Korean gf (the other with a Japanese), my generalising opinion is that Koreans are far more racist in regards to Japanese than vice versa.
They can't seem to get over the past and are very nationalistic to the point of ridiculousness imho.
If you ask me it doesn't matter what someone wears, which color his skin has, what his ancestors did, etc...only his or her actions.
And repercussions should only be paid by the people that actually committed the crime and not by their offspring.
Sorry for the rant.
Flexo - Didn't he send this a few months ago?Yes when GSP had it. Now he's going after Ronda I guess.

easier for the winner to forget about attempted genocide/forced labor camps/systematic rape of Korean women/destruction of history and culture
If its anyone other than a Japanese person wearing that logo they should stop, only because it bothers others and they couldnt possibly have a reason other than 'derp, it looks cool'
If a Japanese fighter wears it it may have some meaningful idea to them, fair enough - but anyone who is willing to offend someone else on the basis of ther 'need' to wear a random clothing logo = lol

no shit eh?
I bet some Pakistani's hate me for being Amurican also. Guess what - I dont hate any of them....

True.
Korea has their own share of war crimes though, mostly south vs north though.
But that wasn't my point.
What I try to do is not judge someone that was born decades after for something his father or granpa did.
That's just as wrong as the crimes themself imho.
Don't forget the past but embrace the present, or not! ;)
might just as well ban the 'Murican flag as well while you're at it. This is NOT going to end up well for the Korean Zombie, unfortunately....
They only problem with the rising sun image ( compared to something like the nazi cross) is that it is still a national symbol in Japan ( and worldwide). A rising sun comes from Shintoistic religion. It has a rich history before it abuse during WO2 . Yes it became a symbol of imperial Japan but it went beyond that.
Perhaps you can say the same of the nazi cross ( Sankrit influences) yet its usage was never as broad as the rising sun, nor does it play a big part in the religious life of said society ( it still get used in the Hindu religion).
While Korea suffered tremendously under Imperial Japan forbidding the rising sun in an octagon ( where it is clearly a symbol for martial prowess unrelated to imperial Japan) is not the solution to easing this pain.
i would imagine some would find it unacceptable for swastikas to be worn around their place of work. (yes i see the difference here as well, just a small point, im not really on a side here)

I am sure UFC is looking at this seriously and analyzing how it might effect their expansion into the KOREA MMA MARKET.

I'm Korean and I find the older generation to be pretty stubborn with forgetting this stuff
but holding onto grudges/ignorance/racism/etc. seems to be a hallmark of all older people anyways.
I never noticed the same sentiment amongst the current generation of young adults/young parents but I've never discussed the topic with anyone but americanized koreans

That's sounds dope. But let make sure I got it: wreak havoc on a population -rape, pillage, exploit, enslave- and if we die before we are brought to justice, our actions become legitimate and our kids and countrymen can reap the benefits?
Why is Obama bullshitting? Why have we not invaded Canada already? I need, at least, five Canadian field hands. Asap.
