From a promotional standpoint, it could make sense. If anyone can make you think that Hardy has a shot, it is the UFC hype machine.
I would like to see this fight. I think Kos would be arrogant enough to stand and bang with him.
Hardy would talk it up to the point he would have to, or look like a fool. Especially after they are both coming off of beat downs from gsp and condit.
"hardy by ko" is this a joke? We all saw how daley did against koscheck, and his only clean hit of the night (the cheapshot) did no damage. Hardy does not have this one shot ko power that you believe it does, he has split decision power. Koscheck would take him down and keep him there for 3 rounds. An obvious and dominating unanimous decision for Frazzle.

i would love this fight. you're totally right about the trash talk, but i think it makes sense on paper, too. both fighters are coming off a loss, but both are still in the mix. i like condit a lot, but i think losing to him really hurt hardy's standing in the casual fan's eyes.
im sure a lot of bar fans who only care about UFC champions have already forgot about hardy, shit they might have even forgot about kos soon had it not been for his 2nd TUF appearance. who knows.
i gotta assume hardy has been working fuckin hard on his wrestling. i know he's been training with 10th planet for his jits, but after being dominated by GSP, you gotta think he hit the gym to work on takedowns in general. which would make a fight with him and kos all the better.

so you have an exciting standup fighter who is not exactly an elite wrestler and a wrestler whose is not an elite striker but is exciting against guys he can easily out strike, however against good strikers lay n prays, (which is a fair tactic). both are coming off a loss, so from a business standpoint, why would it make sense to set up a fight of no real value, contender ship wise, that would likely be a boring stalling decision, when there are better fights out there for each fighter?
especially since with these two "name" fighters it would likely be a co-main event.
