Lance Storm said on Dave Meltzer/Bryan Alvarez's wrestling observer radio that "Marijuana is a pain killer, because it has one of the same ingredients that pain killers have. If pain killers are banned in MMA, so should marijuana."

Marijuana is probably one of the best pain killers in the world. If people actually knew what it did basically every pain pill under the potency of Oxy would be off the market very quickly.
Weed is banned in MMA already... I don't get it.
In the case of Nick, they CANNOT prove he was under the influence of Weed at competition time, only that he smoked sometime in the last 30 days.
In my experience I've never found marijuana to be the painkiller some make it out to be. It just never seemed to help with my nerve pain and herniated disc in my lower back.
Are fighters just expected to wallow in pain all day? It's better they use marijuana than pills to cope with pain.
I don't consider marijuana to be a pain killer.
It doesn't "kill" pain, it's just being in pain and baked is better than being in pain and not baked

Word up. Where would Karo be now if he had turned to bud instead of Oxys and Percs?
Just smoked my medicine and I feel Great!! However I have to admit the last thing in the world I would want to do right now is get taped up and Fight The Natural Born Killer in front of Millions of people! Don't think it's much of a performance enhancing drug... The only Fight I wanna get in right now is with my old lady over who gets the last Chicken Wing... FYI she's a serious Favorite -600 at least!
Who's Lance Storm?
perfy - Who's Lance Storm?

My mother has this ancient Chinese secret type of pain killer that she makes from over the counter products. She starts with 91% alcohol & adds in some camphor, ruda plant leaves & marijuana and it kills her pain almost instantly.I highly suggest that you look into it.Im not making this shit up.

* It
s important to keep this stuff in a dark area and let it sit for about 3 to 4 weeks for best results.
Former pro wrestler that by many accounts would have been a decent mma fighter had he gotten into it at the right time.
Addictive prescription pain killers are illegal. I do not believe testing positive for aspirin after a fight is enough to get you suspended but the UG could prove me wrong.
crowbar -Yep called Teenctures... I make mine outa either 100 proof vodka or Everclear and take little shots of it or I use the strongest rubbing alcohol available if I'm using it too rub on my joints ( elbows, knees, shoulders...not my massive bob marley spliffs I roll...lol) It's instant relief! Will probably be the first way to get cannabis medicine legally over the counter in the very near future, pretty sure Bayer aspirin has a few products they sell in Canada and Amsterdam that there lobbying to get approved here!!! Teenk it up!!!MarlyPersianNoob - I don't consider marijuana to be a pain killer.

They can't prove people are under the influence of steroids at competition time either... wtf is your point? It is banned and he cheated. It clearly helps him train better. He has said so himself. Just like steroids help people train better. Obviously to any casual observer, the 2 are not on the same level when it comes to performance enhancing but the commission makes no distinction between the 2.
Spoken like someone who has no idea what the fuck they are talking about.
Weed is banned, but not the the PED reason; it's banned because when under the influence of it the fighter can be at increased risk because he is under the influence.
So, no, actually. The Commision makes a very large distinction between the two.
Care to drop any other pearls of wisdom there o great kahn?
who?! and who cares?
did he mention if he smoked? I don't see him as a smoker.
lol @ giving a shit what a pro wrestler thinks of drug testing in sports?
He is an actor / entertainer.
Who is this guy? What makes him an authority?
"it has one of the same ingredients that pain killers have. "
*********************Right here he loses any and all credibility. Most prescription strength pain killers use opioids, none I'm aware of use cannabinoids.
Maybe he got confused with the fact that NSAIDS, like advil sometimes cause false positives for THC on certain drug teests? But NSAIDS ARE NOT CANNABINOIDS, nor do they share any pharmacological properties.
