So bizarre.
Hopefully this doesnt happen.
But in all honesty I know most think its a joke fight but if you are M 1 it kind of makes sense.
Bobby is a name, WWE/MMA, even if most dont think he is that good he is still a name, its a fight Fedor should win no doubt.
So its a fight Fedor should win over a guy people know, lets be honest which would do more viewers on Showtime or even on PPV?
Fedor vs Sergei, Duffee, Guram or Fedor vs a former WWE champ Bobby Lashley?
Fedor vs Bobby on Showtime would get some decent ratings and you know dam well people will tune in to watch it.
chokeyou - If fedor had problems getting silva off him lashley will be a huge issue.
Silva (290lbs) is bigger than Lashley (265lbs) AND has cardio to boot. I think this would be a pretty good test to see if he's actually got a few years left in him. Still reckon he should be at L.HW though.
Emelianenko Fedor Vladimirovich
greatest heavyweight fighter ever to walk the planet
I don't know why this is happening
If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much -KimboByGhettoplex -If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much - Honestly, Bobby has a small chance to win.
If he can get Fedor down and get in mount he could pull off the upset.
no he doesn't
ishii is like 10X the athlete and far more legit as a martial artist than lashley is and he's still in can territory as an opponent for fedor
lashley is going to get ktfo inside of a minute and then we'll hear more about stadiums in russia vs. overeem etc.
Never knew Judo and Wrestling was the same sport!
Seriously, you can't honestly believe what you just wrote.
Lashley is stronger and has a FAR better shot of taking Fedor down then Ishii ever did.
I am not saying Fedor will lose as he should be a big favorite but least he is going up against a good wrestler. I see it as a bout to prepare him for american wrestlers he would have to face in the UFC/SF.
When did I say judo was the same thing as wrestling? I don't know what your point is. Are you saying judo doesn't work in MMA or something? I said that Ishii is a superior athlete while Lashley is not. From what I've seen that's the truth. Lashley's athletic "gifts" are way overblown IMO.
All I see in Lashley is a roided up freak with no cardio. And a wrestling background isn't worth anything if you can't use it effectively. Lashley can't set up a shot nor is he athletic enough to explode out of the gate and close the distance on anyone who isn't more or less static. Lashley is full speed straight ahead, minimal if any ability to move laterally, and Fedor still moves very well. There's no way Lashley is taking Fedor down without throwing a punch & there's no way Lashley does that without getting his shit countered and put to sleep. Lashley's takedowns are the result of short bursts of energy and his strength, but even then, he just gasses shortly thereafter. Lashley has almost literally no chance to land any offensive maneuver against Fedor. This would be Fedor's biggest joke of a competitor since Zuluzinho.
Tomato Can vs Tomato Can
Who cares who wins this fight. It isn't relevant at all. Mind as well be a pro wrestling match.
I wonder where the Fedor nuthuggers are and their argument of "top competition"
Neil Funk - Emelianenko Fedor Vladimirovich
greatest heavyweight fighter ever to walk the planet
I don't know why this is happening<br type="_moz" />
I think it's because he just doesn't care. I think he'd rematch Hendo tomorrow just as easily as he'd rematch Monson tomorrow. Doesn't care. But he trusts/believes in Vadim for some obscure reason and lets Vadim keep setting up the cans.
I have no idea why Fedor would have ever thought he needed M-1 or Vadim for anything. Fedor's name & legacy is bigger than anything M-1 has ever done or will do. There's no reason to believe that Fedor couldn't have put a couple lawyers together and formed his own company off his own name. I mean, we are talking about Putin's BFF here. Fedor certainly could have found a way to have gotten whatever he wanted or needed. I don't understand why Vadim or M-1 ever needed to be part of the picture after Pride went down. Doesn't make any sense to me.
If true, Fedor would officially be jumping the shark.
Please, don't let this happen. Fedor still GOAT back in the day.
Can't wait :) if lashley wins this site will implode

Would be pretty awesome to see Fedor get smashed by Bobby.
Nothing would have been bigger than Brock being the first to really beat Fedor, that would have been amazing to see the aftermath of that.
Finally.
The fight the fans have been calling for ladies and gentlemen. Should be a highly competitive bout heh?
Bobby is a super nice guy. I just bumped into him again last weekend, The guy is freakin enormous. I hope all the best for him in his career.
not the fight I was expecting...
This fight will give you an idea of how Lesnar vs Fedor would have went down.
haaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha Can crusher.
So, where are all those people who defend everything Fedor at the drop of a hat? Funny how we've made it 2 pages without seeing any of them.
This fight will only tarnish Fedor's legacy.
TheUltimateLurker - Fedor is not the fighter he used to be. We all know this. From is most die hard fans to the lowest foob. That being said, how you could possibly watch Emelianenko vs Nogueira and call the man a can is fucking unfathomable. Greatest ground and pound this sport has ever seen and he didn't need the steroids like the hammer did to pull it off. How anybody who can call themselves a fan of mixed martial arts or just fighting period, and talk shit about Fedor is beyond me.
Guess Michael Jordan sucks because he doesn't play anymore. He showed what a pathetic athlete he was in baseball.
Payton Manning is a poor excuse for a quarter back because he didnt man up and play this season.
Am I doing this right?
Sadly, you are doing this right. I'm really not sure what Fedor is expected to do at this point. For the moment we're not going to see him in the UFC, so who exactly should he be fighting if that's not an option?
I personally don't have a problem with this fight. Fedor badly needed to rebuild and refocus after his Strikeforce run and that's what he's doing. Lashley is certainly not an elite opponent, but he does present some problems with his size, athleticism and wrestling ability. Fedor seems to be getting back to basics and this is simply the next step.
If he continues to show the discipline and patience he's demonstrated in his last two fights, he still has the skills to be a player in the HW division, even if he's not quite the force of nature he was at his peak.
ugh. I don't want to see that fight at all.
Fedor all day.
TheUltimateLurker - ...guess Muhammed Ali was never any good either. All he does anymore is shake and stare at the floor. Are you really comparing Fedor and Ali? Ali was the greatest boxer during the greatest era for heavyweights in boxing, while Fedor was the greatest fighter during an incredibly weak era for heavyweights in MMA. Who was Fedor's Joe Frazier, Earnie Shavers, Sonny Liston, Ernie Terrell, Jerry Quarry, George Foreman, Ken Norton, etc.?
I like a good comparison as much as the next guy, but that is a shit comparison.
