Last night's Valley of Fire

Not a bad show for a small event. Decent fights. What was up with the tap in the last fight I still don't understand. But kinda lets you know what you need to do for tonights fight.

in tennessee the law around here is your not allowed to hit in the face on the ground. you could punch, elbow, knee to the body just cant hit the face on the ground. stand up pretty much everything was allowed but point of the elbow strikes. the were a couple of school there that were good. i believe blalock was one they did good, they are from Chatannoga. the thing that got me was they wanted everyone to pay again the second night like all but the actual fighters. so the conner men and family and everyone that came the 1st night would have to pay the same price the second day. i did not go the second day. there were alot of talk big fighters that never fought before, so that made it quite humorous. for me to fight again there they would have to change that and allow the fighters to get in free w/ 1 conner man. the fighters draw the crowd which make the money the fighters shouldnt pay. they did offer some belt for the winner for fly weight, and tonight crown the 156-170 catagory, they were pretty cool.

The second night was when I fought. I was slated to fight Devan Plaisance in a single bout. Then two other heavyweigts showed up on the card and we were going to have a tournament. Then we find out the other two heavyweights didn't show but Devan and I were still going to fight a tournament style fight ( 1 ten min round w/ 3 min overtime. Then with minutes left til fight time Scott from Blaylocks signs up for the tournament and that makes one of us get a buy. Well, I never get the buy and had to fight scott first. A prett even fight with stand up, take downs, kicks and reversals until I gassed and got caught with a key lock. Good job Scott!! Then Scott beat Devan w/ I'm not sure what, maybe smothered him out??

This event is coming back in May 20,21 2005. Hope to see everyone there.

Casey

Hey guys,
Casey I thought you were in total control of the fight right up into the end. Your ground was really good too.

I agree with the corner man thing. But, this was our first show and we had several things to work out. The next show will be alot smoother than this one. I'll try to have full results from both nights.

The best fights were definitely fast paced and full of alot of skill. In all of the novice fights I think I was pretty close on matching everybody up with similar skills. Again don't forget to tell everyone about our next show on May 20th & may 21st.

Thanks guys
Joe Perian

Joe,

What about a time frame on the DVD's? I will be back and superbly conditioned for the next VOF. Did I understand correctly that whom ever has the belt will have to defend that title?!?! I hope so. Thanks for a great event.
