Legendary trainer says Kamaru Usman couldn't beat 'B-level guy' in boxing

And a boxer couldn’t beat a ‘C-level guy’ in MMA.

Usman beat Masvidal with his hands, so this isn’t a comment on Usman so much as it is the entire sport of MMA.

Not necessarily true. Although they wouldnt be a champ, if given the right matchups a heavy handed boxer can ktfo opponents. Wilder as the first that comes to mind.

Dont forget how Ray Mercer mercked Tim Sylvia.

True, I meant [There are some] boxers out there that couldn’t beat a ‘C-level guy’ in MMA.

The Pauls could beat some B level MMA fighters in MMA probably.

Heavy power punchers, which is most heavyweight pro boxers (not including Tyson Fury) could do well in MMA against the right opponent.

Wilder with MMA gloves is even more terrifying.

The UFC Heavyweight Champ, IE the guy who could beat anyone else in the entirety of MMA is Francis Nganou. A sloppy power puncher with no ground game.

Legendary trainer is correct

Fury would be the greatest MMA heavyweight of all time. His style would translate better than anyone else to MMA seeing as he has great reach and can box at range and would be a force of nature in the clinch with his size and strength. Also, with his footwork, strength, and size he’d be difficult to takedown and he does have pretty devastating power too seeing as he had one of the most brutal title fight KOs of all time this year. Imagine 6’9” Fury throwing kicks from across the octagon. He has the absolute best attributes for MMA.

Good thing he’s not a fuken boxer

He’s calling out Canelo so it’s a fair statement that shouldn’t trigger you

It’s like comparing a decathlete to athletes who specialize in one event.

Top 10 boxers aren’t calling out MMA guys.

Is it so hard to understand that MMA guys keep calling out boxers and boxers aren’t doing the same? People can comment If you call them out.

Seems too obvious to state.

This might be true, but the one chink in the armor presumably is Tyson’s body type is terrible for takedown defense. Look how high is waist is. Him going into a sprawl to try to stop a takedown would look ridiculous.

If Fury were also a great grappler, yes.

However, imagine Nick Diaz with no jiu jitsu or wrestling, completely helpless on the ground, that would be Fury but at heavyweight.

The reason I say great power punching boxers would do best in MMA is because they can KTFO you. Fury is a volume guy. Yes, he knocked Deontay out… With volume. One punch power would be the key to a boxer with no grappling to succeed in MMA. To be able to land that one shot, ALA Nganou.
