I won boys but not enough ha. Iā€™ve picked this and Fury now. I had 9 out of 11 on a parlay 400/1 pattinson and Casey cost me.

I felt the same way. Iā€™ve learned my lesson, thinking dominant champs who lose will come back stronger. It just never seems to happen that way.

Leon looked great out there. What was missing in the first fight was his confidence.

Leon with a swagger in his step is very dangerous.

Honestly, Edwards was right. Usman fought a bit scared. After that string of taking guys out and then getting stopped ice cold, he fought like he was afraid of getting KOā€™d again. It was like the old/boring Usman entered the fray again.

Yeah I had feeling heā€™d have that swagger tonight.

You shoulda bet Edwards by decision, youā€™d be happy today.

Good call OP. Was rooting for him but not confident enough to bet on it.

Lol
Of course someone already posted that but deserves two

I did bet Edwards.

Changes nothing about what I said.

Canā€™t cherry pick amongst all the massive piles of awful and funny failed guarantees and think that proves the point wrong

I disagree. Usman put a lot of pressure on Edwards and it was a damn close fight.

Iā€™ve seen a lot of people say how close it was, so I realize mine is probably the minority opinion, but I didnā€™t think it was all that close.

What exactly did Usman do to win?

  1. He couldnā€™t get the takedowns, tried 15 times and got a few, never holding Leon down or doing damage. Even the one time he did get in there and get a true TD and land some punches, the most significant moments of that round were Leonā€™s. Kamaru landed exactly 1 ground strike in the entire fight. Though, i get how a takedown often gives the round to the aggressor, so I sorta knew Kamaru would get round 2.
  2. He never had Leon hurt
  3. Leon hurt Kamaru several times, including one kick to the body that shook him so visibly, Herb had to tell him his claims of low-blow were invalid.
  4. Usman threw around 60 more strikes than Leon, and landed 10 fewer. He also threw about 40 more ā€œsignificant strikesā€ and landed 33 fewer than Leon. Leon was over 70% landing strikes AND significant strikes, Kamaru was about 40% on both. And, again, did not control the fight nor do the most damage.

So, Iā€™m not sure if any of this is in dispute? How did Kamaru make it close, other than a deduction, which was justified, IMO. We need more penalties for situations like that.

He did actually hurt him with a hard shot and was pressuring and landing later in the fight. I didnā€™t think he won, but it was competitive and he was the aggressor. It wasnā€™t like he was just running forward wiffing on punches all night. I was nervous for Leon until the announcement of the decision.
