Lets say Dana does get Afflicton contracts

Would he pay a million for a one fight deal for Fedor ? ? ?

Of course he wouldn't, because its bad business, but the fans would be outraged that UFC got Fedor but did not use him.

If Fedor beat Lesnar, I doubt he'd have much reason to leave. Lesnar is riding a huge wave of hype after an impressive win...if Fedor were to walk in and demolish Lesnar (who is not ready for a fighter of Fedor's caliber), he'd be worth a mil per fight to the UFC, who'd be fools not to pay it. Fedor-headlined UFC PPVs would sell like crazy.

I don't know why the sambo thing was ever a sticking point. Nobody would care if a UFC champ lost in a judo tournament, and though Russian sambo events include strikes, they're not full MMA. Besides, it doesn't even air in the States.

Because they don't want to get the marketing machine rolling behind UFC 110 headlined by Fedor only to have him break a finger a month before in a sambo tournament seen by 30 people and have to drop out of the show.

Ah, yes...injuries. He does have a history of problems with a hand, doesn't he?

Of course, couldn't that be addressed by allowing him to compete in sambo, but not within (X amount of time) of a scheduled UFC fight?
