That doesn't mean you ignore anything from the past, but start giving credit to officials when they do well instead of only crucifying them when they make a mistake.

I don't know dude. During the replay, he interferred with Barry following up on one of the knockdowns. If hes going to interfere, stop the fight. Instead, he interfered and allowed Cheick to start getting away.

I'm always happy to jump on a ref for sucking, but in the same vein Big Dan deserves some credit here. He just allowed one of MMA's best come backs wins ever.

3. Kongo vs Barry.

"Starting to intervene" is exactly what he did at first.
Barry didn't stop throwing a bit when Dan touched him. Was brief and didn't affect the fight, anyone saying that let Kongo get away is just looking for a way to hate on an awesome moment.

I'm glad he didn't completely fuck up this fight, though. Just a near-miss this time.
I'm not a fan of either Barry or Kongo so I don't care about the result. But nobody would've complained about an early stoppage had Mirg stopped it after the second or third knockdown. These guys are hard hitting heavyweights. It's safer to err on the side of caution.
Also he should've stopped it immediately after the Kongo uppercut. It was clear that Barry was out cold. He let Kongo get two more punches in.
I still don't think Mirg is a great ref. Every dog has its day.
