Let's stop interviewing losing fighters

While some gems exist, most of these interviews are with recently concussed, extremely disappointed versions of these athletes, and it shows. Rarely does anything insightful emerge, and both announcer and fighter look worse as a result. Phone Post 3.0

i agree, although I'm not a massive fan of Jose's he has been a great dominant champion, when you lose like that, you just need to get out of there and not be asked shitty questions.

Really hated when Aldo said that he wanted a rematch "because it was not a fight" and Rogan corrected him after saying that it was a fight.

Have some Hespect goddamnit, you know what he meant bitch! Phone Post 3.0

Totally agree. Let the defeated retreat with dignity. Phone Post 3.0

Should be optional Phone Post 3.0

The worst part about it is when rogan comes with the hard questions and really puts them on the spot.

Like it's just a little much sometimes.
Kinda unnecessary, especially when someone just got knocked out or lost their title. Phone Post 3.0

According to a thread on reddit, the interpreter fucked up the questions and the answers. Several people have posted what was really said.

Apparently it was a bad translation too and he said it better in Portuguese.

Rogan apologized to Aldo on Twitter for that one though.

If anyone cares I translated the whole thing in another thread

[I'm trying to translate as literal as possible with all his mannerism without interpreting anything]

Translator: Can you remember anything about the fight?

Aldo: He.... He threw a straight on my chest, I expected that. And when I went to attack him he landed a good straight.. ¯_(?)/¯ Then it hit me there... but.. sniff I wanted this fight to... I think that now.. we need to go for a rematch cos.. I don't think it ends here. I think that..cleans nose it was too fast there. He landed a good strike and was able to finish the fight.

Translator: "Yeah, he threw a cross in my chest that I wasn't expected, then I threw a punch and he came back with another cross and that was that. I think that we need a rematch this was really not a fight. So we need to get back in here."

loud boos from crowd

Joe: "It was certainly a fight. Just a fight that happened and ended very quickly. How much of all of his taunting and all of his insult.. How much did that affect you, and what was that like to be disrespected like that?"

Translator: The fight happened, but it was to fast, right? All of what he said, all that has happened -- How did that affect you here in the fight?

Aldo: very angry sounding voice Ah, it didn't affect me in anything. It didn't, man. It's.. he could have said whatever it was. I never fall for taunts, man. I feel fine, with my head very calm in there points to the Octagon with head I try to get in there and do my job ¯_(?)
/¯ He.. he succeeded today, he landed a good strike. I think we need to go for the next one now. Now I'm waiting for the rematch. God willing in the next one I'll be much better trained, and retake what's mine. sniff

Translator "It didn't affect me at all, I really don't care what he says. And ugh.. and it's on to the next one at this point."

Joe: "You had some amazing fights and an amazing reign as a champion. And I look forward to seeing you inside the Octagon again. Thank you very much for everything"shakes hands

Aldo: takes mic Thanks guys from Brazil, thank you very much for cheering for me everyone. Uhm.. shrugs this happens, it's a sport. We lost today, but god willing we lost the battle, not the war. God willing I'll be back stronger and win for you. Thanks for everyone's support. Thanks guys, big hug, may God be with you. thumbs up

Translator: "Thanks for everyone watching in Brazil. This is a sport, it's a fight, these things happen. Thanks for everyone staying up, I'll be back."

Joe: "José Aldo, ladies and gentleman." Phone Post 3.0

Good idea Phone Post 3.0

Or maybe only interview losing fighters if they lose by decision or submission. It's pretty humiliating to be interviewed after being KOd not to mention you are so out of it anyway. Phone Post 3.0

Sweet. Back to some Rogan loving. Phone Post 3.0

Agree.

Jesus, that translator shit the bed on that. He really didn't say what Jose did. Jose seemed to come across pretty bad through the translation but in Portuguese he gave Conor credit and was respectful. Too bad most people aren't going to know what was really said. Phone Post 3.0

Absolutely agree.

Agreed & signed, it's not the best policy.

That translator sucks ass. Phone Post 3.0
