We are proud to announce that on June 19, 2004 THE GEORGE PENDERGRASS CLASSIC The Classic is a benefit tournament to be held in Wake Forest NC, all proceeds from this tournament will benefit the Leukemia Research Foundation. This will be a GI event. This is a RATED event with the World Grappling Ratings system and we will be using the IBJJF scoring system for all matches. This event is being held as a celebration of the life and in memory of our father George Pendergrass who passed due to his battle with Leukemia this past October. We are honoring our father's memory and donating all proceed's to the Leukemia Research Foundation in his name.
Our major sponsor Casca-Grossa who has worked diligently in helping us put the word out will also be hosting a 4 hour seminar 2 hr Gi / 2 hr no Gi the following day, it will be conducted by their sponsored athlete Diego Saraiva, Nova Uniao Black Belt instructor from LA Boxing - Atlanta. All proceeds from this seminar will also be donated. Along with much support from the jiu-jitsu community in North Carolina and Virginia, we are also receiving support from the Virginia Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
