I've been using my trusty Adidas gi for a while... been really awesome. But I live in Taiwan and I want to look for something light weight. There is a purple belt that rolls with a Kauai gi. I visited there website and they seem to be out of business. Does anyone have any suggestions for a light weight competition gi?
My buddy has the koral lightweight gi, the newer one with the updated logo and what not. He swears by it. He only uses that gi for competition and that's it.
One of my gi's is a gameness air, it is super light and durable, been using it for two years.
Kingz also has some really light gi's, their ripstop and light model gi is really sweet I hear. Looks great too. Galvao is now sponsored by them, and around my area everyone seems to have one...

Hyperfly lightweight gi is amazing
Vulkan is the lightest but hard to break grips when people grab it.
New gi I designed just came out from Ronin, pearl weave I believe. Really light weight. Also another Gi I designed by Maeda Brand should be making a big splash in the next few weeks. Pics below.
*I do not get any royalties for gi sales
Progress JiuJitsu kimonos are really light.
Best fitting gi ive had.

Kauai Kimonos is not out of business. They release batches in small quantities throughout the year. The last batch was a few weeks ago. The next release is due for August.

No, Kauai Kimonos are not IBJJF approved. I believe they are ok for FIVE, Grappler's Quest and NAGA.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Ronin Brand the in-house brand for Kinjisan? Kinjisan runs specials all the time on their gis.
That Maeda Brand gi looks sick!
If you can find one, the ctrl joose is by far the lightest gi I've ever had, surprisingly so
Wings&Things -Yes ronin is kinjisans brand. Great gismfred -Wings&Things -Are kauai kimonos IBJJF approved?MrMichaelz - I've been using my trusty Adidas gi for a while... been really awesome. Tatami subzero. Surprisingly strong and light.
I like the OTM Hyperlite 400g. IBJJF legal, weights about 3lbs with the pants included. Great for competitions.
If you want something a bit sturdier -
OTM SLC 420g is slightly heavier
I see a lot of people with the Moya Brand that seem really lightweight.
