Get any dog that you want. They're going to grow up and behave how you raised them to behave regardless of how their appearance. I have a game shih-poo that loves to wrestle and attack shit like raccoons and possums.

Wife brought two chihuahua's with her. They have moments that I want to punt them but for the most part they are rad. 
I have a miniature pinscher now. My next dog is going to be a corgi.
If I were to ever get a dog I'd only get a basenji.
They don't shed. They don't bark. Good around people once they're trained and comfortable. And they don't get much bigger than 30lbs. Cuter than hell too haha.

English bulldogs are shit is more like it
they are riddled with health problems and owners are extremely limited to what they can do with these dogs because they are so sensitive to heat/cold/activity.
I have a jack russel/corgi mix. He is badass.
Miniature bull terriers are awesome.
