Strikeforce better back up the Brinks truck to Jake's house if he wins, otherwise UFC will snatch him up for fights with GSP and Anderson, and Strikeforce will be left scrambling to crown some paper champ at 185. Plus Henderson/Mousasi will obviously lose a ton of luster if Dan loses to Shields at 185, and god knows there are virtually no other 205ers over there.
Bad matchup for Shields style wise and then there's the size difference...very tough fight for Shields.
Hendo via psycho stare
"Hendo by whatever he wants."
Yeah, he's hugely versatile. By "whatever he wants" I hope you mean "catching Shields with a big punch and KOing him, or winning by fairly boring decision".
Well, I am assuming he's going to want to just knock him out. Why get all sweaty?? Just go out, knock the kid out real quick, take the belt. And get back to the ranch to get caught up on the two weeks worth of American Idol he missed because of training for the fight.
So...That would be "by whatever he wants" now wouldn't it??
If Hendo lays out Jake like Bisping that would definitely get some talk the next day or 2 in the mainstream
Jake has always been the underdog. The thing that you guys don't know is that Jake is one of the most mentally tough fighters out there.Plus he won't compromise losing this fight to be "exciting".Jake is not going to be "feeling Hendo out on the feet".He will doggedly go after that takedown and do what it takes to win.I predict Jake getting the upset and many of you guys later complaining that Jake was boring or that the ref should have stood them up more.
SpiderManBJJ - Jake has always been the underdog.
not accurate.... he has only been an underdog 1x as far back as 2007...when he was +115 vs Robbie Lawler in June 2009....and now vs Hendo
Odessa-since '07 he has only had 4 fights.During that time he already established himself as a great fighter. When you look at his career he was the underdog against Verissimo,Condit, Okami,Menne,Cooper, and Sakurai. All of those guys were supposed to destroy him(according to forums).

Not sure why people continue to think that because Hendo has an elite wrestling background, that he is a great ground fighter in MMA.
irishrottie - well said.

man i never get tired of watching Bisping get Hendo'd...

the forums are wrong... here's the odds the sportsbooks all had on Shields bouts u mentioned above...the sportsbooks didnt offer Shooto bouts...so cant debate his status there on Cooper and Sakurai.. but here's the other numbers below....
Jake Shields was -550 vs Verissimo
Jake Shields was -450 vs Yushin Okami on same night as Frank Trigg -345 was Carlos Condit ...
^ and no odds we're offered on Jake Vs Condit in the finals that night...
Jake Shields was -170 vs Dave Menne on 1-20-2006
so Jake has been expected to win every bout other than Lawlor in the money markets dating back to 2005..
on the feet hendo kills him
if it goes to the floor........................................................
Hendo has to be the favorite for sure, but guillotines are great equalizers.
irishrottie -
That never gets old :)
Similar to the Hando/ Paul Harris fight IMO with hendo being more willing to sit in the guard and pound....
ttt
i really want Jake to win this fight, but watching Hendo knock out Bisping NEVER gets old!
looks like me, SpiderManBJJ, and Quick5pnt0 knew what was up!
Doctor said I need a backiotomy -- Hendo
