YouTuber-turned boxer and pro-wrestler Logan Paul recently revealed a shocking development involving UFC icon Nate Diaz.
āThe Maverickā has not stepped foot into a boxing ring since his 2021 showdown with the legendary Floyd Mayweather Jr.
In that time, he has dedicated himself more to professional wrestling and to promoting Prime Hydration, his energy drink venture with KSI. More recently, Paul revealed that a fight with an MMA superstar was on the cards but ultimately fell through.
The name of the fighter in question was bleeped out at the time. However, during an interview with Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, Paul finally confirmed that the fighter was none other than Nate Diaz. After being initially hesitant to confirm it was Diaz, Paul went on to suggest that the Stockton favorite was possibly ducking him due to the lucrative deal on the table not being picked up.

After some joking around about a potential opponent, āThe Maverickā finally confirmed it was indeed Nate Diaz, who famously handed Conor McGregor his first loss in the UFC, he was looking to face. Paul believed the fight was almost ready to go when the former UFC top draw opted out.
āItās Nate Diazā¦ yeah, thatās the oneā¦ I donāt even care anymore, yeah whatever, itās Nate Diaz,ā Paul confirmed. āI thought I had something locked in and apparently he called and said the fight was off, and, like, why? Why? So he could fight someone else? For what purpose? To get less buys, and maybe an easier fight? I donāt know, I donāt get it.ā
Despite Diaz seemingly pulling out, Paul confirmed the fight is not completely dead in the water yet. āThe Maverickā confirmed he was excited about the fight and believed Diazās recent disses of him were simply marketing for the bout.
Considering his unimpressive professional record, coupled with his lucrative star power, Paul is seemingly perplexed at Diazās decision to back out.
