LOL at these passive aggressive Union "articles"

Uncle Dana must have Kirik on the hook for publishing this rubbish. It's not even subtle. Hilarious.

Care to explain yourself?

I think it's the article about bjorn, or the one about Tim Kenney "tries to explain" Bjorns involvement or some shit.

It's just passive aggressive rambling.

"One Wednesday the sport was promised an ’industry redefining’ announcement at 4:00 p.m. ET. What we got was five brave, well-meaning souls, and Bellator founder Bjorn Rebney.

The Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association seeks a 600% increase in fighter salary, among other aims. The sole conceivable way to force a company to increase the talent’s salary by that margin is via going on strike. But that is an extraordinarily hard sell. The route to the raise was described as a strategy that had to remain secret.

That was the heart of the pitch – we are going to get you six times more money, but we can’t tell you how. You just have to join. And we can’t tell you who is funding us."

just a taste

I appreciate the feedback.

The same article says:

"Please note, this was not directed at Urijah Faber, the perfect figure to lead a desperately-needed MMA players association."

I have said countless times in countless ways, that MMA needs a players association of some form. I am not paid to say that by Dana. For that matter, I am not paid to say anything by Dana. Or paid by Dana.

What I am saying is spelled out. Bjorn Rebney is an extraordinarily problematic figure to be putting together a UFC players association. And CAA is an extraordinarily problematic group to be backing it, if indeed they are backing it. If it isn't CAA then who, and why the secrecy? And if CAA is not backing it, was it coincidence that four of the five fighters have the same agent at CAA?

Anyone who doesn't have these same concerns is not thinking clearly.

Above all though, I am grateful for the read, and for the feedback.

I think the best approach is to see how it all plays out , I'm not a massive Rebney fan either but I'll take what he's trying to achieve at face value :)

The one instance where I'll agree with Kirik. I'm 100% behind a fighter's union, but Bjorn's involvement is dubious at best.

And I get Randy's sentiment too. I think it should be inclusive to all fighters as promoters across the US do shady and outlandish shit only to get away with it.

Not to mention commissions that are corrupt and issue inconsistent reversals of fights while upholding more blatant examples of fights that should be overturned.

Kirik uses his news page to put people on blast or kiss their ass. He should probably save it for just an ordinary thread on the Underground but it's his site so if he wants to put it on the 'news' page then whatever Phone Post 3.0
