So googled my name and bellator in the tag line , to find a mma junkie link to send to a college buddy. Well while seraching for it i cam across the sherdog poster ripping me and bellator. http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f61/brian-rogers-joins-bellator-mw-tournament-1677687/
Everyone is entilted to their opinion and im sure this wont be the last time I get ripped on, but I hope next time its on the UG at least where im familair all the degenrates and even call a few of them friends. :) Normally, I dont even go to sherdog for news... the only time i get on there is for international fighters records becasue they tend to be more accurate.
More than a few people online have asked why I am in the tourament with a 7-2 record and only 6 fight win streak. Well I could of sat around an tried to get on TUF for the 5th time or fought some bums to boost my record for a legit Zuffa call, but at the end of the day Im just trying to get paid! I am extremely excited for my Bellator opportunity!
I started training in the summer of 2006 after I was done playing college football and I was 22. My number one goal when I started fighting was to compete with some of the best in the world by the time I was 29 and be able to cut a check to pay of my student loans from my " Private school" education.... well now I am 27 and have that opportunity through Bellator. So I am pretty happy at the moment! For those of you that dont know much about me... ill tell you a bit. I am special education teacher and work with kids with emotional and behavior disorders. School just ended so now i have the luxury of getting to train twice a day all summer in prep for the tourney in the fall!
Throughout the summer I along with UG memeber ( Mayhem13) will be posting some training vids along with random nonsene that takes place along the way. I plan on traveling some this sumer and training in a variety of places besides my home gym of Strong Style in cleveland. One place I will be going for sure is to Denver @ Factory muay thai to hook up with UG memeber & UFC vet Chris Camozzi.
Ill have another thread up when the videos get going.
Whether or not you think Im good or deserving of my opportunities , I think you should support me for a few reasons.
1. You all have student loans or some other type of debt.. we share the same debt free dream!!
2. UG member since 06 and regular poster therefore we have a Will ferrel & John C. Riley Step Brother like relationship.
3. I just got engaged and destination weddings arent cheap
4. Im a special edu teacher and 50% of you guys were taught by people like me
5. My hair is cool
6. My dad can beat up your dad

I've seen a few of the videos of your fights you put up.... you're good and the potential is obviously there. Fuck the haters.
Bellator is great orginization and they've done a lot to build the careers of young up and comers such as yourself. If they like you and are putting you in one of their upcoming tournaments, than you obviously have some skills. I look forward to seeing you get your shot this summer.
On a side note, I thought I was the only special education teacher on the UG! I'd challenge you for that right but considering the fact that you're younger than me, bigger than me, and have considerably more mma fights than I do(about 9 more to be specific, since I don't think my 2 amatuer muay thai fights count), I could see that ending very poorly for me.
I like the Sherdog Website, but the forums suck.
I've seen a couple of your fights on the internet...you are fukin awesome to watch, very exciting...I remember Lozano calling you a pretty boy lol.
Mayhem13 is an asset to this forum and a great promoter of Ohio MMA...he's a good dude.
