lol @ the CNU Martial Arts Club

Christopher Newport University has had submission wrestling and Thai boxing classes for the past four years offered through the athletics department.  The instructor of these classes is a student there, currently wrapping up his last semester  He's a BJJ brown belt under Rigan Machado and a level II CSW coach under Erik Paulson.

A very mediocre sometime former student of his started a Martial Arts club geared towards MMA, he has a friend in the school's paper, and they write this article about him and his new club that's quite hilarious.  This part in particular:

Over the last 17 years, Brady has done nearly every kind of MMA including Tae Kwon Doe, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, Moi Thai, Nin Jitsu, and Kung Fu.

Oh, there's also this part:

With a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, Brady is currently ranked 4th nationally, and is preparing to compete in his first international tournament on Oct. 3 and 4.

What's funny is that the instructor and several of his students have handled this guy with little difficulty.

What's sad is that the people going to that club are paying more in dues to go there than they would if they went to the classes offered through the school's athletic program.  Oh well....
