What is interesting is the similarities to Weidman's win over Uriah Hall and the Silva fight. Hall did the lean back, hands down thing and got popped and finished when assumed he was the better striker.

Being able to repeatedly defeat an opponent, or clearly control the fight and do more damage to an opponent over a course of rounds demonstrates true dominance sure, but KO is rarely a fluke.The only real flukes are things like shoguns arm snapping against coleman.
Coleman intentionally took Shogun down. He knew what he was doing.Shogun was the idiot that posted his arm to stop it. Not a fluke. Vitor/Randy cut eyelid was a fluke.
The very first thing I learned in combat sports was how to hit the mat without hurting myself. Shogun failed to exercise a proper technique and paid the price. No different than dropping his hands and getting tagged or posing for the camera to say "Hello Japan." Not flukes. Agree.

In Weidman's first interviews after the fight he was sayin 'I didn't do my best' but since all the critique and people calling the win a fluke, he has reverted to defense mode.
Hes adamant now like Longo that hes gonna keep the strap in December the rematch is going to be a walk in the park. Confidence is good and it got Chris to where he is but there's a fine line and if he doesn't take a good look at what really happened in that 6 or 7 minutes last month he will cross that line into stupidity, making an even worse mistake than Silva did.

A fluke indeed with Serra. GSP was never there mentally that night which is a fluke in itself. And Serra landing "heavy fists on GSP's chin" was only after landing them at the back of GSP's head. The rematch absolutely proved the fluke that was the first fight. Even on the feet in the rematch Serra was completely taken to school.
