First book in a trilogy. Book 2 is my fav but they're all good. Part scifi part war novel. Gritty as fuck and will leave you depressed and wondering if we're headed the same way. Phone Post 3.0

Love the dystopian future stuff but it does leave me feeling low at the end. Phone Post 3.0

I second this. Hyperion is one of the best sci-fi books I've ever read, and I have pretty high standards for my sci-fi reading. It's not really sci-fi, more post-apocalyptic, but I recommend a pretty new book called Dog Stars. It's like a less depressing version of The Road.

Atlantis plague/gene.....  Not sure which is the first book.

ever read This Alien Shore by CS Friedman?

I'm not a hard core SciFi reader but I really enjoyed Enders Game and The Forever War. Phone Post 3.0

Blindsided by Peter Watts. Really plausible, really depressing attempt to answer the question "are we alone in the universe"?

Also available for free on his website. Google it or go to rifters.com... Phone Post 3.0

Also got to shout out the book I am reading now called "Pines" by Blake Crouch. It is supposed to be made into a Fox TV mini-series/movie/series in 2015.

Ender's Game, The Forever War, and Starship Troopers. Phone Post 3.0

I could really go for post Apocolyptic right now.

Hyperion looks like that point of SciFi that almost becomes fantasy? Not sure if that's what I'm in the mood for... Phone Post 3.0

Not much of a reader but hear the Dune series is a great read.

This. I posted a thread about this series a month ago. Did I turn you onto it?

Cannot. Recommend. Highly. Enough. Phone Post 3.0
