griffin and mat,I DO respect Hopkins as a legend and amazing athlete and fighter,but over the years that has diminished w/his increasing reliance on dirty fighting,racist comments and outright refusal to accept any losses.

What was really embarrassing was the exchange in the 10th or 11th round (I can't remember because I was wasted last night and have no desire to watch that fight again) where Dawson was lighting Hopkins up with a clean combination and Hopkins' response was to tackle him. I respect B-Hop accomplishments even though I've never been a fan, but he needs to hang them up. He's been getting by on being clever (fighting dirty) for the past five years or so, and most of his recent fights have been painful to watch. The HBO announce even team said in the early rounds that the only reason to watch Hopkins fight is to see whether or not he can still win.

I turned it off after the 6th round. I respect Hopkins but have zero interest watching him.
Sorry he doesn't handle losses well. Not every fighter can have a coke and smile after they lose. I don't blame anyone for talking losses hard. They hurt psychically, emotionally, financially, etc. Its not a sport to some people, it's their life.
As much as I hate it, I respect him as an athlete and a fighter. But I do not respect him as a person.
