Low sodium meals while cutting weight?

What are you guys eating in the last days before the weigh in's?
I'm eating boiled chicken and unseasoned vegetables for lunch and supper. But I would really like sone oatmeal (not instant) every now and then, but I have read that carbs will make you retain water.

Look into a product called Cytocarb, shot is carb ambrosia Phone Post

Ezekiel Breat makes a "low sodium" sprouted grain bread that is actually zero sodium.  Not the best, but a life saver.  There are also some almost flavorless zero sodium peanut butters out there.  Otherwise, I've always stuck to asparagus and cod, unseasoned.

To be more specific thats simple carbs cause you retain water, complex carbs not so much. Oatmeal is a complex carb so consuming oatmeal is ok (unless you load it up with simple carbs to make it palatable.

I like going to a fruit-based diet the week of your weigh-in.  Drink lots of water the month before, increase your water the last two weeks (I try to drink two gallons)... eat 2-3 bananas a day and no salt the last week.  Don't eat or drink for 24 hours before you weigh in and sweat off the weight however you like starting 24 hours out.

Bananas increase the potassium in your body, and with no sodium I think it really helps push the water out.

Josh,

Drink distilled water only.... this helps pull the sodium out. Be sure to re-up after weigh ins.

fishhhhh

Yea I've got a system we use here which involves a 3 day sodium load/ over hydration phase, followed by a 3 day stripping phase that consist of distilled water and zero sodium, which works extremely well.

I was just curious to see what everyone else was eating on their no sodium days.

I eat oatmeal for breakfast (with a little splenda) and boiled chicken, fish and a some unseasoned vegetables for my other meals. With a few whole natural almonds for a snack here and there. Phone Post

How much weight are you cutting? Are you dieting? How many calories? :)

Yes I dieted as much as I could. I was walking around about 173 and even though my diet was very strict I could only get to 169.0 so I'm cutting to 155.

I start my stripping phase today yay! ( I hate drinking distilled water and I miss my coffee already) Phone Post

I tried the sodium load method of cutting water and it just didn't agree with my body at all.  I fight at 155 and the week of my fight I weighed 190 lbs.  I was so bloated that my knees would hurt during my running sessions, plus I just felt sluggish and a total lard ass during camp.  I couldn't wait till the distilled water phase to get that extra water out of there.  It wouldn't come off fast enough, I wound up doing suana session the 3 nights before weighins to get the weight down where I was at least within range.

Best diet for cutting=Keto...I lost like 10 lbs of water weight my first week on it, you should look into it.

Dude I don't know what plan you were following but my sodium loading period is only 3 days. It sounds like you were loading for an extended amount of time. I put on a few lbs during the load process (175 at the heaviest) but I'm already back down to 169.

in for ug smartness.

exactly

In case anyone is interested, I woke at 166Lbs today. Gonna limit myself to 1/2 gallon of distilled today 1 1/2 cup of oats in the morning, boiled chicken, boiled salmon, and some frozen vegetables. And I'll snack on some whole natural almonds with zero sodium throughout the day.

Are you ramping down now for a weigh-in in a couple days?  I usually load with a couple gallons a day until a few days before, then cut back two days before, then cut water out completely at dinner, the night before the weigh-in day.

Is this your first cut, or have you done this before?  I was surprised how much water weight you lose with this sodium and water cut method without having to get in a sauna.  Blows eating bland foods for a week, though.  Those sprouted grain breads were a godsend for me, even before the cut period, because they are high in protein and fit into my fast-carb, low glycemic index approach to dieting down before the cut.

Missed your posts above, sounds like you've done this before.  Good times.
