What can you guys tell me about him a local guy is fighting him this weekend and I haven't heard of him
Well, they call him Lil Hulk and that pretty much sums up how he fights too!
TTT
He trains at Wiseman's (North Platte)
I have watched many of his fights and he is a hit or miss fighter. When he hits - people get REALLY hurt. When he misses - he gets subbed. Really exciting to watch.
Hands - as good as they come in terms of power - he has openings but you have to take some punishment to get to them
Kicks - doesn't really kick much other than to setup his hands- does use his knees
Takedowns - I can't remember anytime that he initiated a takedown - but he does have good takedown defense
Guard - average skills
in Guard - punches in guard and normally doesnt try and pass
All in all - he is one of the most exciting lightweight fighters in the midwest. He doesnt go to decision very often.
People he would have trouble with - wrestlers with ground and pound.
People he would kill - BJJ guys with limited hands and takedowns, wrestlers that can't damage on the ground (IE Koscheck), and most standup guys.
Nice so he is more of a standup of GNP?
Thanks
I dont know how to classify him on the ground...
he doesnt really have a plan for when the fight hits the ground because he always seems to do strange shit... He has lost fights that he should have won because of his ground game. His guard is not very active.
Thanks for all the info
luke's a tough dude. i saw him beat tom kirk by overwhelming him with strikes and i saw him lose to bartimus by guillotine.
Lukes a bad bad man.
- Edited lol
clay guida is a bad ass lightweight
Luke by mauling - Bump
luke seems like a tough kid, and a pretty good guy overall.
Id say one of his biggest strengths is his very good conditioning. The guy is a cut 155 pounder looks closer to 170+.
Ive only seen him fight once but he was pretty intense fighter from the fight ive seen. Really went for the kil. He is good but needs to rise to the next level IMO. Good focus, good power. Needs to work on his ground game IMo....
a young guy with lots of potential IMO.
clay guida is the best 155lb fighter out there. Look at his resume.
I do give guida some props... alonzo martinez was beating the hell out of him and he hung in there and sunk a rear naked... i think zo would get him in a rematch though... he took those fights in that tournamnt on about a 3 day notice... imo...
After he fights Ireland or Justin I will take more heart in that statement...
He is REALLY good but he hasn't proven himself against these two.
Why are we talking about guida on this thread anyways?
If Guida is fighting Luke - Guida is the favorite - if that is the point?
guida fan- we all agree that guida is a good fighter. he's stepped up, fought some really tough dudes and has one hell of a winning streak. i've gotten to ref a couple of his fights so i know first hand what he's capable of.
that being said,
when you hijack other peoples threads to hype up your favorite fighter, people have a tendency to get annoyed. it puts you and clay in a less than positive light. i know you're fairly new here and i'm not trying to pick on you or call you out. i'm just letting you know for future reference that people will have negative reactions to you.
hey timmy i'm not trying to hijack but i haven't seen you lately i wanted to go over some stuff on the ground. b/c i am fighting in STL this sat in B.A.T.B. can u be @ Bob's friday.
again folks i'm not tryin to thread jump but this bastid needs to work w/me on the ground stuff.
Wow this is the most hijacked thread out there. Who is clay guida anyway? (Might as well run with it, Lukes not that interesting anyways)
TTT for some video
