I saw a thread that said "Luke Cumo vs Jason VF Apr 6". Great fight. If Luke wins, I would love to see him vs my teammate Spencer Fisher. Luke has a good stand up game and can really throw his elbows and knees, but I don't think he can keep up with Spencer's speed. Spencer moves like a 120lbs. pro boxer and might have the fastest hands in the UFC.
On the ground, I would have to say its even but I don't see this fight going to the ground. So what do you guys think about this fight...Joe Jordan
Fisher would destroy Luke
Fisher's best chance would probably come on the ground. I don't think he could beat Luke in a standup war, but until I see both of them a couple more times, I'm not sure.

From what I've seen of Fisher he is a bad dude. He'd be too much for Cummo in my opinion.
i think i like the cummo vs. alves matchup better and then have fisher fight melvin guillard at 155 or 170.
I think Luke wins on his feet. Spencer is the better boxer, but boxing isn't
fighting any more than BJJ is. Spencer also has good wrestling, but I doubt
he'd be able to do much on the ground against Luke before he got back
to his feet.

Lets deal with this point by point.
The ground issue. I agree that Luke is much improved on the ground however, Fisher is really good on teh ground. He does in fact teach beginer Jits at Miletich's gym.
If you think that Spencer's strong point is his ground game... Give Aaron Riley a call. He has a mouth that is wired shut from a left hook. Spencer has the best hands in MMA. Yeah I said it. He hits with very bad intentions and his hands are very fast.
Your last statement about liking Cummo but Fisher would win. I agree. Luke is a good kid and I wish him the best but Spencer is a stud.

I'm a big fan of "The King", but I can't find anything negative to say about Luke Cumo. He has a pretty good standup game and can take a punch. I don't know if he can handle the speed and power of Spence, but Luke did knock out Sam Morgan. I would have to think that Thiago has better standup than Luke and look how he faired on the exchanges with Spencer. "The king" is slick on the ground and you never know what he's gonna do or pull off. I think I'm gonna have to go with Spencer on this one by a rear hand down the pipe.
A good thai guy can take apart a good boxer in mma if the boxer doesn't intend to go for takedowns.
Anderson is a good example of this
Personally i think Cummo would beat Fisher by beating him up in the clinch. His workrate and cardio is just incredible.
