I remember the red jacket and a bunch of pals all joking and saying just like a friend we were watching the show with.
Listening to these stories from the early days remind me of stories I know about from another industry. Many of those stories or that history is not being passed along as much as it used to be. My dad is one of the old guys that remember many interesting stories with interesting characters from that industry. I remember being a kid and even in college years listening to those guys thinking what a bit of gunslinger mindset or old American/pioneer spirit those guys had (similar to NHB)
I will sum it up or describe it as it is a good thing to capture these NHB/combat sport stories/this history in a format other than passing down just verbally or generationally.
Funny to hear him mention his “day job” and keeping his day job but still having his hand in the fights, booking, managing, promoting etc. I had no idea the guy in the funny red jacket stayed connected to the combat sports world in such a manner. Plus the DJ gig.
Love to hear how wide open so much of it was, meaning the “resume” or pedigree was not as important as “making the call”. " Taking the chance"
