This is one of the most frustrating things about ground fighters. Your expertise is only useful if you can get the other person down, why wouldn't you focus on takedowns?

Its what happens when you start your grappling on the ground. Wrestling is a way better base than BJJ. I'll give Dern some props for at least being aggressive in her striking. She is getting better. But she started with zero.

Its a flaw in the sport. Wrestlers get lost if they end up on their back. But I'll take wrestling over BJJ for a base all day
