I remember there was a thread some time ago about making your own mats using carpet underlay and a tarp. Remember it being quite detailed too.

do what my son did.... go to a carpet store, ask them if you can look thru their "discarded in the dumpster" carpets & padding, layer it as thick as you want............ but watch out for carpet burn. :-)

It's free........ then go to a 99 cent store for the tarp.
