just say you took Melvin Manhoef at the age of 8 and put him with Rickson Gracie training bjj...later on, you have him train under Dick Roufus...what happens??would you have a world champion or just a top 20 mma fighter?

Melvin with improved TD defense would have been a monster with the sprawl n brawl.

Melvin is a sprawl n brawl fighter. His TD defense is also pretty damn good... just look at the Tim Kennedy fight. Tim was just too persistent with the TDs. He would've been better off earning at least a blue belt in BJJ and concentrating on defense. Phone Post 3.0

Liddell type style would have served him well. Especially the "get back up" techniques to compliment the takedown defense. Chuck made a HOF career on that ........at the same time Melvin was fighting. I got ridiculed by posters for suggesting Manhoef would give Chuck all he could handle during Liddell's run.
