Manny's kosoto-gari?

Just going from memory, but on manny's match yesterday I thought I noticed manny try for a kosoto-gari near the end of round 2, did anyone else think the same thing? Just seemed interesting to me since I don't see the move in used by many MMA fighters, and it seems like a nice application of judo to getting the takedown in MMA matches.

what about joes escapes from headlock/guillotine position? very cool and underused. what is that? like a hammerlock escape?

just called an arm spin in wrestling

MIT,

Was it kosoto or de ashi? I'll have to watch again, but yes I did notice that he went for an ashi waza.

Karo actually did this in his last fight.

what's the one where you kind of kick their ankle? he took joe down with one of those in round 2 or 3, then tried for another one that didnt work.

It was De Ashi if we're talking about the footsweep.

I thought it was awesome and is a highly underutilized technique in MMA.

It might not be a big KO slam or crowdpleaser, but it's good to use in the greco clinch.

You mean Judo clinch? :-)

I was suprised that Manny didn't go for more hip type throws like Karo does.
