Anyone heard if Marcelo will be competing at all this year. Last I heard he was back 100%. Haven't heard anything about world's, I was really hoping to see him at adcc...

Was hoping to see him back, I thought he took time off because of the problems with his school flooding but he was going to be back this year.
Who do you think will take ADCC in his absence?
I'm thinking it could come down to Victor and Kron.

I know I sound selfish, but I get so nervous when he competes, I'm perfectly happy with him taking a break from competition :)

I don't mind a break....I just fear that the break turns into retirement from competing.
I;m pretty sure MG is concentrating on his students. I think he will compete next year, but he has a bunch of purple belts who challenge for gold at Mundials, and he is working on getting them to the podium. Same with Matheus Diniz at Brown Belt

Marcelo has been competing seriously for over 15 years and it has taken its toll on his body, too.
I know his back bothers him sometimes - poor guy walks like a duck when it is acting up.
He has written his name in the history books. No need to prove anything. Maybe save the body for a long career as coach?
