UFC middleweight Mark Munoz feels he deserves a title shot after he beats Chris Weidman on UFC on Fuel TV on July 11th. Marcos Villegas chats with Mark about the challenge of Weidman and how he plans to win come fight night.
Munoz has nothing for Anderson. 
Can't argue with him. If he beats Weidman decisively he's the most qualified man to challenge Anderson. Obviously he'd be an underdog, but unlike Chael he has VERY heavy strikes on the ground, so you never know.
He probably does but it's not a very interesting fight to a lot of people.
i understand the intrigue behind a lombard fight, but truth is hes overated and would get dominated by silva more so than a muoz match up. Look at what chael was able to do in taking anderson down. Mark has just as strong takedowns as chael but with harder strikes on the ground.
Munoz is gonna have trouble getting a shot against Silva because it is a fight not that many fans are clamoring for,just like how Okami had to go through hell to get his shot.

well mark deserves it more than lombard. lomabrd hasnt fought anyone of note, he should go thru franklin, and bisping to get a title shot. fight a few fights of worth
For sure he deserves it, I think he should get it before Lombard.
No one has had anything for Anderson for 8 years. It's not about that, it is about who has earned a shot at the belt, imo

Has vicious GnP but don't think he'd be able to take Andy down. Munoz, Lombard, and Bisping all have cases to fight Anderson assuming they win their next fights.
Munoz needs to beat Belcher or Palhares before he gets anything!
I don't think beating Weidman earns him a title shot. Weidman is still pretty green in the octagon and this is by far his biggest test. And although he has better wrestling than Sonnen he does not use good pressure to set them up like Chael and definitely telegraphs his takedowns more then Chael does . Anderson should be able to see them. And has this been declared a 5 round fight?

I disagree. A great wrestler with heavy ground and pound and decent submission defense is the kind of fighter that will beat Anderson. Hendo and Chael both pointed the way but lost because they were lacking at least one of the requirements.

I like Munoz, but I'm not entirely sure a victory over Weidman earns him a shot. But, why not? He's probably about on the same ranking level as anyone else not named "Spider."
But, I don't think Munoz wins. It seems like in most of his fights he ends up eating a shot or two. Fortunately, he's been able to overcome that and pull out the victory. But I don't believe he'd be able to take one of Anderson's shots. With as precise and powerful as Silva is, I think he puts Munoz to sleep within 2 rounds.
But, like I said, I like Munoz. So, I hope I'd be wrong about that.
Munoz a better wrestler than chael haaaaaaa in the ufc and wec his takedown percentage is 23% 1-15 in takedown attempts against okami he may be a better amateur wrestler but not an mma wrestler hes got a suspect chin weidmann will keep him at distance take him down at will and submit him in the 3rd anderson would finish munoz quickly

How is it you're concluding that munoz has the better wrestling? I've watched them both a lot, Chael clearly has the better wrestling.
