Exactly. Most of my Mexican-American friends are very conservative and are big Trump supporters. They generally don't like all the illegal immigration because they are the ones who are most affected by it.

Traditionally but while Trump had the majority of Cubans in the last election, he did not win the majority of Cubans in Miami, the core of the Cuban American community and Obama won the majority of Cuban American votes before that. The younger generation is also moving away from the Republicans.
Also, traditionally, I believe a strong core of the influential Cuban American/exile community in Florida were the wealthy that profited off the Batista dictator regime…you know, the gold phone guy that was depicted in Godfather 2? That was the American legacy in Cuba - a mafia run dictator state.
The Bay of Pigs is just another example in a long list of American foreign policy directly or indirectly trying or successfully overthrowing other governments for not bowing to their will.

Bad policy exists anywhere, even here, but the majority of Cubans were better after Fidel than before Fidel. Also looks like I read the below wrong about Obama - he did NOT win the majority of Cubans in 2012 but nearly half where Bush Jr won 78% in 2004 - a clear sign of change.

Also, as Rafael put it, the US embargo on Cuba was probably the biggest factor in ruining Cuba. And why did they embargo Cuba? Because they dared to not do as the US say. The Ayatollahs would have arguably never come into power had the US coup not occurred.

He only suspended the constitution, helped US companies consolidate the sugar trade, bedded with Meyer Lanksky and co to let them run Cuba like a Caribbean Vegas ripe with drugs, whores and gambling which of course did wonders to enrich the people of Cuba…
