What's the UG consensus?
No one?
Is that a romance novel?
LOL @ learning any kind of boxing from Matt Lindland.
^^^ what he said
We've just got it in the office - I haven't read it yet but if I get a chance I will post my opinion. Lindland's Greco background makes for some good technical awareness regarding 'dirty boxing' but he's never been that well known for it as far as I'm aware..
That said, I'd rather read a book of this title written by Randy.
im not going to buy a book in general that is about dirty boxing, ud be better off spending the money on a greco class
I don't think the problem is with nobody wanting to read about dirty boxing. the problem is nobody giving a shit about matt lindland or anything he has to say.
just a guess though. You'd think making a shitty documentary trying to smear the biggest and by far most popular org in MMA would make you popular? how nutty!
I tried to read it, but every few techniques he starts talking about torts and how to exact what you want from the legal system, very confusing.
Reviews on Amazon weren't that great. Basically said that it really was mis-titled and more of a basic wrestling book and that Randy's was much better for pretty much the same material.
I skimmed throught it at Barnes and Noble this weekend. I usually buy all the Victory Belt books, even though I am way too much of a beginner to apply the information.
I passed on Lindlands book. I thought it would be mostly, well, dirty boxing. It was mostly takedowns and transitions and I already have a book on that.
Even books that are not "striking" specific have more boxing and strikinng than the Lindland book. Fedor's, BJ Penns, Big Nogs, all have more striking and they are not titled "Dirty Boxing".
FWIW.
Chango
^wow that sucksa takedown book called Dirty Boxing.
i want Jens Pulver to come out with a Dirty Boxing book

its a good wrestling book
i like it more then randys

BrazilianBomber - LOL @ learning any kind of boxing from Matt Lindland.LOL@listening to your advice when you obviously haven't even seen the book and probably haven't seen him ever fight or even know what dirty boxing even is. You think that makes anything you say credible?
In spite of the title, the book is about using wrestling in MMA. It's not an expose on Boxing.
Let me tell you about your mom and see if you get the irony.
The boxing part I have covered. Was mostly looking for his ideas on how to integrate clinches and throws into the mix.
Sounds like the book might be good for that at least?
his setups for takedowns in this book are very good
take a look at the book
5 minutes and i expect youll get it with a 010101 member date
i wasnt going to get it(i have randys book and i'm more into bjj)
looked at it and bought it

You could learn a lot about being dirty, though.
I heard the book just lays there...
Thanks Malachy. I think you convinced me to pick it up, especially if you see some stuff there that wasn't in Randy's book.
I also liked his book more than Handy's.
