All the shit talked about Matt Hughes on here for the last couple of months can now be flushed down the toilet.
Welterweight Finalist- Joe and Luke. Team Hughes from start to finish.
Heavyweight Finalist - Brad and Rashad. Brad started out on Franklin's team but was the only heavyweight traded and he ends up beating Franklin's best heavyweight by listening to his corner's instruction and better conditioning.
Rashad was Team Franklin up to the finals when he was coached by Matt and he ended up having his best outing to date because he was obviously listening to his corner during the fight.
All you poofs who talked about how Matt was a big meanie and a terrible coach and solitaire player can bow down.
i don't care how he is as a person, he's just not a good coach.
he never really says anything to help his fighter,"punch his ear" was his best coaching yet.
"you have to do something brad or they are going to stand you up" so what does the ref do after he hears a coach say this, stands them up.
to pick a guy up and carry him all the way on the other side of the ring is just dumb and a waste of energy. it's not like the guys wouldn't be able to here their coach anway.
That's why all the finalists either came from his camp or were coached by him including the last guy picked at heavyweight and the last guy picked at welterweight.
Great reasoning JRunServer.
I guess Rich is better because the only guy from his team that made it to the finals was coached by Matt.

I see none of that undoing his lack of support for Jason post-fight, not showing up to Rashad's pre-fight planning, and getting on Rashad's case after winning the first time.
Only through Rashad can Matt find personal image salvation.
Franklin coached Rashad up until the semifinals. I don't think it's fair to claim that it was Matt's doing that Rashad made it that far, unless you also make a point of saying you're discounting the numerous weeks preceding it.
"Rashad was Team Franklin up to the finals when he was coached by Matt and he ended up having his best outing to date because he was obviously listening to his corner during the fight." - Rashad is a counter puncher who rises to the challenge... he does just enough to beat the other guy....
last call: you are the victim of UFC (TUF)scripting to make matt look good... my ass Rashad meant those things he told matt...just like those guys really meant what they said about Xyience...
"it's not like the guys wouldn't be able to here their coach anway."
If the man carried his opponent acrosee the cage sand closer to his own corner, it's because he felt he could be coached better that way, regardless of how you may have done it. I've found that in the cage, you want your opponent near your corner so that you can get better instructions.
Good Adam has the right idea. The "Edit Monster" can remove some things, like if Matt gave Jason a big hug after his fight, but they can't add stuff like him chewing Rashad out for nothing, not showing up to his pre-fight planning, or Jason's obvious disappointment at the lack of support.
I tape and edit fights and fighters training as my hobby. I'm aware of what's possible and what's not.
I don't think he's a terrible person, coach, or fighter. I do think he's callous at times. That's fine. I don't need to love him to respect or watch him.
Matt put together a great stategy for Rashad. He told him to stand with him because they wouldn't expect it and in the third he told him to throw a punch and then shoot because since he hadn't shot the whole fight, they wouldn't expect it. The stategy worked perfect.
"That's why all the finalists either came from his camp or were coached by him including the last guy picked at heavyweight and the last guy picked at welterweight."
Matt also coached the worst performer Mr. Whitehead. The only guy I saw who truly QUIT in the competition.
matt pushed his fighters allot harder than Franklin did matt got his fighters in better condition, the hardest part of the fight should be the training you do be for the fight and that's what matt did for his team.
