A win for either Pettis or Maynard is the proper stepping stone for getting them to a title shot. A win for Pettis proves his ability to deal with strong wrestlers and one of the best at that. A win for maynard against a highly touted opponent, including his win over Guida, puts him right back into title contention. Mean while, we preserve the top contender with Diaz who among all current light weights has the best win streak and performances against the top 10 in the division. Once the Edgar, Henderson fight is resolved schedule those two fights to set forth a clear path for the top of the lightweight division. (Meanwhile, Cerrone lingers in the wings picking up another win or two, and the loser of Edgar and Henderson becomes available... ;-) ).
Makes sense to me. Good post.
