Mayorga Back on Tonight's DKP Card
It looks like Ricardo Mayorga will fight tonight after all. Mayorga, the former welterweight champ who was originally scheduled to fight WBA title holder Jose Rivera on Don King's PPV show tonight, is now scheduled to face middleweight contender Eric Mitchell. Mayorga-Rivera was scrapped when Mayorga weighed 153.5 pounds (more than six pounds over teh 147-pound limit) at yesterday's weighin and Rivera's management refused to agree to a non-title jr. middleweight contest. The selection of Mitchell to fill in for Rivera is a risky one for Mayorga, as the veteran Philadelphia fighter is a strong and crafty 160 pounder who has never been knocked down or out. - Gerbasi/Fischer
