Mayweather backs out!

Str8 bitch made

I'm not educated enough on boxng to know how difficult it would be for an expert like Floyd to adjust to kicks, but I do know that a kickboxing match would have made it instanly interesting.

Let's just say that Mayweather's defensive style of headmovement would lead to an easy target for head kicks.

I'd like to hear more about these "private exhibitions" and how much he gets paid for them!

old rich dudes pay him to bang thier trophy wives

I bet “completely blindsided” meant they sent him the contract in writing.

Last time I checked Floyd didn’t know how to read, so how did he write all that up...just saying

https://youtu.be/we9dMyziICQ

reminds me of The Rocky movie

He was just doing what be does to keep fans excited during periods where he has no intention of fighting. He floats a few pictures out, or in this case a press conference, and nothing comes of it.

PBF does everything BIG… and true to his legacy this is a global dicktuck of the most epic proportions!

TENSHIN IS A BAD DUDE!

nobody told him tenshin can actually fight.

Like mentioned earlier, I wanna hear more about these private exhibitions. He made it sound like he’s done it before. I thought that shit was only in movies. I know musicians get hired for private shows, but people on Floyd’s level? That would be like hiring Elvis.

A dead and bloated fresh off the toilet Elvis, maybe.

Maybe he didn’t get the reaction/offers he was hoping for when it got announced and cancelled when he realised not many people gave a hoot?

I would’ve watched it but it was hardly a must see if it was going to be just boxing or boxing with MMA gloves.

Hope he fights Pacqauio again. That’s the only fight I’m interested in seeing unless he was to go up to 154 to fight Canelo or GGG

Whoa.... Floyd could spell unprecedented?

0 chance Floyd actually wrote that.

Mayweather announced he was on the upcoming Rizin card…I assumed this meant he would be boxing Tenshin or competing in a kickboxing hybrid type match…Floyd now says it was only an exhibition match to be held in front of a few people…what the fuck is wrong with this story?!

It made no sense for Mayweather to box Tenshin

A kickboxing match would have made sense…Mma too

A behind closed doors exhibition for a handful of people doesn’t add up or make sense…why would the Japanese do that?

This is all stupid

taking one leg kick scared the shit out of him.

Singing a duet with a headless Kurt Cobain

Sounds like he was never in, thus no back out. His explaination makes more sense than the fight being real in the first place.

He posted photos wearing Rizin gloves and was quoted by CNN after the press conference. Why would he even attend a press conference for a private exhibition? Surely his guys could google Rizin and see what they were about beforehand. He clearly just didnt like the ruleset and this is his way of dodging things whilst attempting to save face.

Sounds most likely scenario. Floyd got paid huge money for a very low risk fight against an MMA fighter, was seeing if he could recapture the magic. He’s willing to bend on some clinch issues (not full Thai obviously, but Floyd is the guy Jack Slack uses a an example of the best standing clinchwork in boxing for MMA.).

They were in Japan, where you could have pulled off a mixed rules bout that would have been very exciting and LOOKED a lot more like kickboxing than it was while still giving him a 98% chance of winning.

Remember old PKA bouts that had minumum numbers of kicks per round? Just have a maximum number of kicks (and knees) per round (5 or so) and it would have LOOKED like Floyd was winning a kickboxing match without letting his opponet set up any of those slick kick combos that are damn near guaranteed KOs for guys that haven't seen them before. And of course, no leg kicks. Boxers can read and defend kicks through their normal defensive regions with minimal training, but leg kicks are whole other ball game that take YEARS to defend on a high level.

He can't endlesslly expect to fight non-boxers for big money, but with a little showmanship and strategy, he can be winning fights that are 99% boxing with no major risks, and LOOKING like he's fighting a whole other game

The other big danger (which Mark Coleman and and ex boxing World Boxing Champion Muhammed Saad ran into) is them agreeing to rules that you're going to win (or sometimes straight up staged) and then just ignoring those rules and fighting for real later. You can't exactly take the Japense to court successfully for something like that, and they just gained masssive street cred off your name.
