McCray

Cut or not?

I thought he won

gone

I thought he won too

thought he won rounds 1 & 2

I thought he won

cut, he did a horrible job with his lay and pray. no attempt for ground and pound and was content to just hugging john's hips.

Agree McCray did absolutely nothing but attempt to fitch him and he failed. But John was very very sloppy tonight and that's where the dispute is. Phone Post

GodSaveTheQueen - He should honestly be cut. That was a disgraceful lay and pray attempt. Had his foot snapped in round one. Arm nearly broke in half in round two, and the shit beat out of him in round three.

All the while he was on top he did NOTHING. I hate fighters like that. They give the sport a bad name.

if he was english you would be praising his performance, shut the fuck up

considering he got beat that bad according to you, how come hathaway wasnt able to do anything and a lot of people thought mckray won?

lost 3 straight, finished in 2 out of those 3. Gassed in this fight. Time to go.

I hate to be on the same side as the UKTT but hathaway won that fight.

Hathaway won!!

How do you figure? I think this is one of those where you're giving one guy too much credit for not doing as badly as he was expected to.

What did McCray do in this fight? As far as I can tell all he did was get two takedowns from catching knees (one of which rocked him), and a few reversals. Hathaway easily won the stand up, outstruck McCray from on bottom, dominated the third round, nearly snapped his foot in the first, nearly armbarred him in the second, and had an decent triangle attempt in the second too.

How many subs did McCray nearly have? How many clean shots did he land? How much ground and pound did he do? Jack shit mate.

IMO McCray did more in 2 than Hathaway despite the sub attempts, but UFC scoring as far as submissions + activity on the bottom vs. position literally boils down to whatever fighter the judge likes more because it's so subjective. If McCray hadn't looked so gassed he would have been more likely to win that round on another card and take the split but obviously that didn't happen

Props to Hathaway for the win of course, he finished strong. He seems a bit robotic to me, like a rugby nate quarry, but he clearly works and trains very hard

I thought McCray won Rounds 1(Clearly) & 2, Close fight though, I think everyone can admit that.

Good song mate. I was actually quite impressed by Hathaway here. It was always going to be a bit tough coming off a loss, but he fought well, besides making a few mistakes like getting controlled on the fence, throwing too many high knees in the clinch, getting reversed. Good subs, good strikes, good conditioning.

I agree.. Hathaway was a worthy winner, no doubt.

Credit to Mcray though for lasting the distance..

Hathaway won but it was close. McCray got good positions but unfortunately did nothing with them. Hathaway was constantly busy and was active from the bottom. McCray gassed out from the 2nd onwards... Phone Post

The way McCray fights he has to have such good cardio for it to work, and his cardio isn't that stellar. Everything he does seems to be so labored and forced, he looks stiff but powerful. He never really "explodes" but seems to be in low gear just trying to out power people the whole time and it looks like that affects his cardio. I think the guy could be alright if he improved his cardio tremendously. As I said earlier though, I thought he won rounds 1 & 2. Tough close fight, either way I would like to see him given another shot.

So are you saying that "position" is what won him two rounds? C'mon Mike, you know better than that.

LOL definitely debatable but don't act like position has never won MMA fights before
