UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and the best boxer of his generation, Floyd Mayweather Jr reportedly have a boxing match scheduled for September 17. Reportedly as in some with some knowledge said so, not reportedly as is in confirmed.

Edited footage was recently released of McGregor sparring six rounds in California under boxing rules with former IBF and IBO champion boxer Chris Van Heerden. If you didn't know what you were looking at, it might have looked competitive.

Van Heerden spoke with Elie Seckbach for his EsNews channel, and confirmed that McGregor is not going to beat FMJ.

"I was excited," explained the South African boxer. "We've got questions, as a boxer and MMA fighter - we've always got that argument whether a stand up MMA fighter and a stand up boxer will give him trouble."

The boxer replied to a series of questions:

Conor's power?
"With 16 oz. gloves I wasn't fazed, at all. 4 oz gloves it's a whole different story - one punch. Conor knows how to use his hands. ... It's not like he's a bum. The man knows how to fight.

Conor's speed?
"You know what he's got good - his precision, his timing. That little bit of timing, he's very good at that. His best punch is his counter left. And that's it."

What did you learn after six rounds?
"That a boxer would beat an MMA fighter - professional boxer beats a professional MMA fighter in a stand up game, any day."

How would McGregor do vs. Mayweather:
?"Mayweather wins, no doubt about it. Mayweather is the best. TBE as they say. He's the absolute best. My opinion, it would be a one-sided fight. But, take nothing away from Conor. It takes one punch. We all know that in the fight world. It takes on punch.

"And can Conor land a punch? Yes, he can. ... But not on Floyd. Not on Floyd. ... Not on Floyd."

"If Floyd feels like playing around, that's up to him. But Floyd can end it very quickly because of who Floyd is. Floyd is TBE."

"There's no way in this lifetime that Conor McGregor beats Floyd in a boxing match. No way.

So what did McGregor have to say?

I smell like a brand new car, wearing brand new clothes. Why would I ever give a fuck, about you gossiping hoes. #TheFaceOfRollsRoyce #50Rolls #MoneyMcGregorWhatsFloydGonnaDo? #TakeAllTheirNames #DoNothing @rollsroycecarsna #ThanksForTheCheese

Boxers don't win standup fights against mma fighters. They only win if it's boxing only. You land leg kicks it's done Phone Post 3.0

I don't know that he was responding to that boxer. If u watch the boxer video he is just being honest and is being fairly complimentary of McGregor Phone Post 3.0

The only notable boxer I'm familiar with entering K-1 was ray mercer and he went 0-2. Granted that was later in his career but we'll never see two guys in their prime from two different sports fight Phone Post 3.0

Floyd would never ever ever participate in a non boxing only match Phone Post 3.0

Conor would embarrass himself in a boxing match with Mayweather, just like Mayweather would be embarrassed in a MMA fight.

I think this fight's stupid because it's clearly about the money and nothing more. There are plenty more competitive fights either of these guys can take.

I personally think this sets MMA back a bit, as even though it'd be in boxing, people would still say that one of the biggest names in MMA just got his ass kicked Phone Post 3.0

Just to clarify it doesn't 'just take one' because boxers get multiple 10 counts. Phone Post 3.0

Not so fast. Mercer knocker Tim Silvia the fuck out. And James Tony gave Randy Couture the fight of his life. Randy barely made it out alive. Phone Post 3.0

First part yes but did you watch Toney/Couture? That was as one sided as it comes Phone Post 3.0

Lmao Toney/Couture. Forgot about that epic back and forth war.

I think James was a special case though... To get to such a high level of wrestling and submission defense so fast is rare. Phone Post 3.0

If by "barely made it out alive" you mean "never took a punch and choked James Toney out in under 5 minutes" youd have ankle picked the correct.

I had Toney ahead on points at the time of the controversial stoppage.

I just remember he beat Le Banner back when it mattered so if we have to name a boxer as an example of someone that actually had some success in k-1 then I'd go with him over Mercer. Phone Post 3.0

gokudamus - conman is beginning to embarrass himself

not really

the people who should feel embarassed are the people saying they want to see him box floyd, or any top pro boxer really.

Its the dumbest idea ever, completely without spectacle or challenge.

Connor is playing the game, trying to get a huge payday, especially now that he knows that he cant beat everyone in the UFC.
