Mcgregor should change teams

SBG helped get him to where he is , but having target practice on a barely 50/50 fighter in artim and running around the floor like a crab with ido isn't going to get him adequately prepared for the top level fighters at 155 when his physical advantages are negated .

He hasn't fought at 155 yet so let's wait and see how he does there order before jumping to conclusions.

I think Conor would be too loyal to switch camps but I think you're right that he could use some better training partners. Maybe the solution is somewhere in between and he can just get better guys flown in to help him.

It was a tough loss but he did some good things in the 1st round. Moving up in weight should be a slow process because there's so many factors that need to be accounted for like how much more stamina is needed carrying the extra weight.

Don't think he moves camp but I think he'll learn a lot from this fight. Could be the best thing for him like a loss has been for many fighters in the past. Or it could he the worst. We'll have to wait and see. Phone Post 3.0

I think Conor does need to switch, both Diaz brothers pointed out that Conor doesn't have the guys around him to compete with the level of training that guys out here get.  Conor needs to improve his ground game.  Where is he going to find an ace All-American wrestler and BJJ blackbelt to roll with in his gym?  He might find someone selling potato shakes, but that's it.

You have to go where the talent is that you can learn from.  Most of the top teams are here in the U.S.  Conor would do well by coming out here to train.  If he sticks to Ireland his boxing will be great, so will his karate, but nothing else will really evolve.

He's at a disadvantage until he trains with the right people, plain and simple.

Less touch butt, more jiu jitsu. Phone Post 3.0

Conor looked slower even before Nate landed. He threw big shot after big shot and when Nate didn't go down it got difficult.

Not a great believer in movement coaches.

SBG "helped" get where he is?

SBG got him where he is, entirely, unless you include his old amateur boxing club

a few weeks ago, Conor banged Jose Aldo out. Banged him out. 13 seconds.

Now suddenly a 145 champion is "exposed" and "needs to change teams" because he lost to one of the top 155 fighters in a 170 fight?

get a grip, for fuck's sake
One of the top 155* pounders in a fight neither of them had to cut weight for.. Phone Post 3.0

He trains with Gunnar Nelson who is a black belt Phone Post 3.0

Yes I know he banged Jose out , I never said anything about him being exposed so dry your fucking eyes.

What I'm saying is that if he really wants to move up and be effective he needs better bodies to train with because he was clearly having issues with the reach and size of Diaz.

Some of his success might come from the fact that he's in a camp, where he's their main focus point. BTW Makwan Amirkhani is moving to SBG and might be a good sparring partner to work on his wrestling with.

Having Artem and your movement coach as two of your three corners is a problem. I don't think he should leave his team, but perhaps retool it a little bit Phone Post 3.0

ido portal taught him the capoeira kicks that caused him to gas

There's no reason for Conor to leave SBG. He could benefit from doing what Aldo did: Training with the Cuban boxing team (Conor doesn't have to go to Cuba, lots of top quality boxing in Ireland and the UK), and bringing in specific sparring partners for 12 weeks. Aldo browught in Andy Souwer and the top Brazilian FW and LW prospects to prepare him for Conor.

Being around a bunch of American wrestlers isn't going to make Conor a better wrestler by osmosis. His head coach is a very tactical BJJ blackbelt; Kavanaugh can help him imporove his BJJ.

I'm starting to think that conditioning may be an issue with Conor. He looked dead tired even before Nate cracked him, and he looked spent and lethargic in the Mendes fight.

Nate Diaz is the kind of guy that can make anybody look bad. Look at what he did to Cowboy

Hindsight is great, upon looking at CMs cornermen, it dawned on me that Nate was right to question the quality of CMs corner.

im pretty sure CM had a lot more fighters on in his previous camps including Gunnar. Only Artem was there.

I just want CM and SPG to learn and improve. Phone Post 3.0

Maybe switching teams was too drastic. Conor and everyone at SBG could definitely benefit from bringing in higher level guys to work with.

Jo'donnell-Davies - The first guy to sub him exposed him, Duffy exposed him and Diaz exposed him. Even mendes and Holloway exposed him, he can barely pass half guard or better his position from guard. Ground game is his kryptonite. Everyone has one he's still a great fighter though! Phone Post 3.0
What are you talking about he passed Max's guard multiple times with a torn ACL and even mounted him. Phone Post 3.0

He should definitely bring in some people though. Or even go work with a Jiu-jitsu wizard. Eddie bravo already said he'd work with him Phone Post 3.0
