McThrowdown at Brandeis Question

I made a thread asking about this a month ago and I wanted to ask a couple more questions

I was looking on Bullshido and it said that there would be a throwdown on Saturday, and a tournament on Sunday. I was just wondering whether or not you had to attend one to attend the other

Also, is there anything you have to sign or any fee you gotta pay to attend the throwdown? And what is the format of the throwdown itself, is it just a bunch of different people sharing what they know, or is there a set structure to it like a seminar?

Appreciate any responses

I went to the one last year...you do not not have attend one to go to the other, and the Throwdown is just a little hanging out session - a little rolling, a little listening.

Lauzon will probably be there, so a lot of people will probably be picking his brain.

Fun time for all

"Are you talking about Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass?"

Ya

"Throwdown is just a little hanging out session - a little rolling, a little listening."

How long does it last usually? Anybody there teach any stand up or is it all grappling?

last year, it was a group of TMAers, including some 400-lb jacked dude claiming he had an ancient chinese stance that allowed him to avoid any takedown; a group of us from RSD, and Boston BJJ purple belt.

The only striking we did was showing the others out takedown drill, which consisted of someone throwing punches with boxing gloves and sprawling while someone tried to take them down

"including some 400-lb jacked dude claiming he had an ancient chinese stance that allowed him to avoid any takedown"

Did it work?

i seen a video of it, his stance was a sprawl

Its a gathering, not so much formal instruction. Its an excuse for different schools and people to train together and work out.

Both events are at Brandeis, but not linked other than that.

sounds good

Joe Lauzon will be there! Nuff said!
