If you listen to the end she mumbkes thats our job

The media def controls how people think. Fear mongering is more alive and well than ever. The people that own the media have an agenda and use the media to their benefit. Especially the war mongers.

Another great example is the demonization of Trump. Look at al of the senseless protesting and rioting. People are sheep.

if the media can control how people think we are fucked.

control is impossible but they can try to influence people.   if the people are too lazy to do any critical thinking on their own they might be able to get some control.

There's a whole set of people still in shock and not knowing how to deal with one critical factor. That our system can still work. The game may be rigged, but it's not fixed. The will of those in power can still be circumvented when done correctly. And we had a man with a team of people who understood how to do it correctly and win the game.

Whether you like the man himself or not is of no real consequence. This is what happened. People didn't listen to those in control. And it was enough people to pull off the win. And they're fucking jawdropped by it still. Their whole model of 'we say, they listen' went out the window. And the more they continue to press it, the worse they are. They're dumbfounded and not learning.

And if you think about its they could've done things very differently. All the liberal power hounds had to do was ease back on the reigns. Pull it in a little bit. Realize that people like being virtuous, but only to an extent. Realize that people don't want to be forced into charity, lax beliefs, tolerance for things they disagree with, and the idea of one happy world where everyone dances together. They didn't even have to completely abandon it all, they just had to ease the fuck back on it so as not to make the alternative extreme seem reasonable in comparison. But they didn't.

And not only didn't they tap the brakes a bit.. even after losing in a humiliating fashion and getting publicly flogged in the process... THEY FLOORED THE MOTHERFUCKER.

They haven't learned.

The scary thing is, there is an entire generation of kids coming up in the next four years with even WORSE ideas that basically spread our ass cheeks open for all kinds of forced fisting. My personal hope is that there are indeed enough kids in this upcoming generation of voters that are remaining silent in their beliefs just as we've seen so frequently these days from Brexit to Trump. It would seem logical especially with now ravenous the lefties are with social media that right wing or more center minded kids keep quiet.

What forces you to go to 24 hour news networks for your news anyway? There are plenty of great investigative journalists and outlets risking their lives and doing great jobs.

Read a broadsheet. Find a quality outlet. There are plenty. Or better yet get your news from all sides of th political spectrum.

Trump is just as guilty of fake news as any news organisation ever has been, in fact what he is doing is dangerous. You should be proud of your free press - definately they should be more accountable but news in the US has been traditionally politically to the right more than left of center.

Rather than address the issue with news editors and political bias or corporate monopoly in news Trump is striving towards government controlled news and arrests of journalists he disagrees with.

You know who else has government controlled news? Turkey, Zimbabwe, China, Russia etc etc. Do you not see the dangers of this bullshit?

Here from Reporters without Borders, an NGO who work to save lives in war zones:

----

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is concerned by President Donald Trump’s latest attacks against American media outlets accusing them of reporting “fake news”. These attacks set a dangerous precedent for the world’s press freedom predators, many of whom have had journalists imprisoned on charges like “reporting false information.”

During a press conference yesterday, United States President Donald Trump attacked the press for what he deemed dishonest and hostile reporting since he took office: "we have to talk to find out what's going on, because the press honestly is out of control. The level of dishonesty is out of control." He proceeded to claim that recent articles in the press concerning former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s contacts with Russia which ultimately led to his resignation were “fake news”. However President Trump insisted that the real story that needed coverage was the leaks regarding Flynn’s ties to Russia: "Russia is fake news...the leaks are absolutely real. The news is fake because so much of the news is fake."

Trump also singled out CNN during an exchange with White House correspondent Jim Acosta and claimed he wanted to “turn in CNN for not doing a good job.” Trump then claimed that FOX News morning show “Fox & Friends” has “the most honest morning show.”

After the press conference, Trump sent the following message to his supporters, asking them to complete a survey:
“You know that I don’t trust the media to report on anything we achieve.

Instead, you -- the American people -- are our last line of defense against the media’s hit jobs.

You are our greatest asset in helping our movement deliver the truth to the American people.

Which is why I need you to take the Mainstream Media Accountability Survey to do your part to fight back against the media’s attacks and deceptions.”

The survey asked Trump supporters to assess the “mainstream media’s performance in its coverage of Trump during the campaign and since he took office. Some of the questions asked about specific topics covered in the media: “Do you believe that the mainstream media has reported unfairly on our movement? Do you trust CNN/FOX News/MSNBC to report fairly on Trump's presidency? Do you believe that the mainstream media does not do their due diligence fact-checking before publishing stories on the Trump administration?”

“These verbal attacks on American journalists are very concerning as they come from the President of the United States, the country which is supposed to have a strong free press protected by the First Amendment, says Margaux Ewen, Advocacy and Communications Director for RSF North America. This sends a dangerous message to the world’s most authoritarian leaders that blaming the press for publishing false information, when that information is detrimental to a leader’s reputation, is an acceptable tactic. The world’s worst press freedom predators have already imprisoned journalists and bloggers for ‘disseminating false information’.”

Just last week, RSF reported that 6 journalists in Ivory Coast were detained for several days on charges of “publishing false news” and “inciting army personnel to insubordination and rebellion.” The journalists - including three newspaper editors and one publisher - were arrested for reporting that bonuses were paid to members of the army’s special forces who staged a mutiny in the southeastern town of Adiaké. Though they were released on February 14, the charges against them are still pending.

Saudi blogger and co-founder of the “Liberal Saudi Network” Raif Badawi was sentenced in 2014 to 10 years in prison, 1,000 lashes and a 10-year travel ban for “disobeying and breaking allegiance with the sovereign,” “lack of respect for the authorities,” “contempt of court,” “preparing, storing and circulating information that undermines public order,” “inciting rebellion,” and “publishing false information with the aim of harming the state”. The winner of the 2014 RSF Press Freedom Prize in the Netizen category and the European Parliament’s 2015 Sakharov Prize, Badawi has now been detained for more than four years.

See RSF’s Press Freedom Predator gallery here.

The United States ranks 41 out of 180 countries in RSF’s 2016 World Press Freedom Index.

If your still tuning into any news station after what we have seen from before, during and after the election and still believe they are reporting actual news you need a time out in the corner. All of the media has an agenda and there is not a single solitary station anymore who just reports the news. People would be better off just turning the tv off and going for a walk. Go enjoy life, take a ride in the country side. Pick up a new hobby. Meet some new friends, reacquaint with old ones. It's blatantly obvious that they are no longer there to just report the "news". They push an agenda and feed off the pandemic that results in it.

It really does sound like she said that...
But why does the video cut so abruptly..? Is there a longer video..?
I'd like to hear a longer clip....

Sorry but the average citizen still gets their news from main stream media. The people claiming that the media is a form of brainwashing are generally labeled tin foil hat conspiracy theorists.

depends what you mean by media - certainly ad men tell u what to think..

movies and tv try to influence what you think.

editorials influence you

news in  the usa was always propegenda to some degree.. wittingly or not.

pundits act more like editorial boards than experts opining .. but even smart dudes like novak, or mclaughlin had their own slants too.

I asked this same question in another thread about this video.  Someone posted another clip, but it turned out to basically be the same exact thing looped over and over.  It cuts off right after she says "that's our job" and the other guy says "yeah".

I didn't see this when it happened, nor have I seen a longer video.  But I can't help but wonder if they didn't catch themselves and try to correct what they said afterword?  Maybe they did, maybe they didn't, but its curious that the videos posted about this seem to cut off right there.
