I was just watching a rerun of one of the WEC events on Versus and Frank Mir said one of the fighters was on a "mediocre rise"...lol. I mean it's bad enough to rip that cheesy cliche out of Goldie's repertoire, but to butcher it like that...

If it was meteoric, the fighter would be in the UFC not the WEC. Frank, being the intelligent and athletic individual he is, clearly saw this and decided to modify the cliche. I can't believe anyone would think he isn't a master of language and a cunning linguist. Shameful.
