Meisha paid 28K?

I know many will say that she was "probably" paid bonuses, ppv cut, etc, but there really is no proof of that; it's only hearsay.

When you look at the fighter salaries, she's at the very bottom. She was in the co-main event in a very hyped fight...what's going here?

Well when you consider that ass coupled with the fact she took the champ further than any fight previously, shouldn't that deserve a bit more of a payday?

I'm all for higher salaries for the fighters, I think they should all be paid more, top to bottom. That said, Meisha was gifted this fight. She was destroyed in the first fight and only got this rematch because Ronda's original opponent was hurt. I dont think in this instance, Meisha makes a great case for the pay difference between the best WMMA fighter and her challenger.

she was fighting for the belt after coming off a loss, she also got FOTN bonus so that's not "hearsay" she walked away with a lot of money.

thats 75k on top of 28k plus sponsorship money.

I hear you man. I'm not saying she should make anywhere near Rhonda, but she literally was at the bottom of the pay scale for the fighters at UFC 168.

She put on a damn good performance and took Rhonda further than ever before in a HUGE fight. If she got arm barred in the first round again (like everyone else), then sure. But that wasn't the case. Don't you think she should be making a bit more?

Come on now.

Yes but the contract was not signed after Meisha performed well and took Ronda to the third round. Her performance showed that she was deserving of a bonus, which I'm sure she got something extra for her efforts.

it was only her second fight in the UFC, and she lost the first one. Fighters are paid based on contracts, so she either didnt haev much leverage when negotiating her initial contract, or she has a shitty manager who didnt fight to get her more money.

while i agree the UFC should pay her more, she was paid an amount she agreed to long before the fight.

i also think fighters who coach on TUF are payed seperatly for their TUF work, not as part of their pay in the fight after the show.

She's on the same pay scale as Travis Browne Phone Post 3.0

that's a lot of cheese. 28k

28k for the Zingano fight (in addition to a $75,000 FOTN Bonus)

2 Harleys, a truck, and unknown amount of cash for TUF coaching spot

And at least 28k for the Rousey fight (and another $75,000 FOTN bonus)

So three vehicles and over two hundred grand in the last year. Pretty good compensation for someone who hasn't won a fight since 2012. I bet Alexis Davis would love to get treated that way.

Overpaid obviously. She was basically a grappling dummy and punching bag.

Contractually? No. She was paid the amount she agreed to compete for and has a multi-fight contract with the opportunity for incentives that provide for additional performance based bonuses.

Had she gone out there and gotten destroyed in 30 seconds would you be calling for her to receive less than her contracted pay???

Why was someone who hasn't won a fight since 2012 the co-main event then? I thought it was all about how many views you can get, not how good you are. Phone Post 3.0

Don't try and argur just leave it at the fact she made a shit load of money in 2013. Phone Post 3.0

She made bank in TUF so she was able to afford those bigger cans she has now.

"what's going here?" WTF do you think is going on? Her manager negotiated a contract and she signed it. Pretty fucking simple.

Same reason GSP fought Diaz before Hendricks. And why Jones fought Sonnen. And why Randy had a million unearned title shots. All about marketability ($$$).

That's pretty damn good. I know a guy who was only paid 30K on his 17th fight in the UFC. And he's been main event a few times.
