Johny Hendricks' manager Ted Ehrhardt appeared recentluy on Ariel Helwani's The MMA Hour, and discussed the aftermath of the main event Saturday night between champion George St-Pierre and challenger Hendricks.

Post fight GSP said he need a break and would not say for how long, citing unnamed personal issues. However, Erhardt said he is confident Hendricks will get the immediate rematch.

"I haven't heard anything from the UFC, but I am (sure Hendricks' next fight will be a rematch) because Dana makes things happen," said Ehrhardt. "I mean, Anderson after the Weidman loss said he was done, then next thing you know, they've got a rematch scheduled. Dana makes the fights happen that the fans want to see. He's been great about that. GSP, being the champion he's been, surely would not want to go out on a fight that he lost and got a win. No respectful champion would want to go out on those terms. So I'm confident between that and Dana White making it happen, that yeah, we'll have a rematch next fight."

"Who's to say if a year (layoff) becomes two years. o if [St-Pierre] is going to walk away, I think he should give up his belt and let us fight for the belt. Don't matter who it is (against).

"Like Johny said, it'd be wonderful to take the belt from GSP because he has been such a great champion. But the main thing is getting the belt. It's not beating GSP. I mean, we already kind of feel like we just did that."

"I would hope GSP would come back and do the right thing. If he's going through stuff, of course you feel bad for a guy for that. But he's made a lot of money in this sport. Like Dana said, he owes it to the sport, not just Johny and the UFC. The sport of MMA has really made him who he is, just like it has Johny. That's what the fans are going to want. They're going to want a rematch, Johny vs. GSP.

"The fans are what make the UFC. The fans are what make Johny, GSP, any of these guys. And that's the [group] that should get what they deserve. All those people that spent that money on that pay-per-view deserve to be able to see another fight and get to watch it."

"You put your heart and soul into something for six (years)/ It's not just the money, by far. I've got some other large companies. It's the dedication, everything you put into it. What you see Johny put into it; his family, the sacrifices that I make with my family, the ones he makes with his family, our whole heart and soul into something for six and a half years. You feel like you're there, you feel like you've got it, and then you hear, still the champion. It was tough."

Again with the owing crap. "What have you done for me lately" sport tossing the guy who's paved roads no one else has completely under the bus. They're gonna drag a guy who doesn't want to do this anymore out to bleed what he has left for their greed.

smh

What they said ^^

A great way to project self-interest is to start off your statement with "like Dana said....."

Ohhh he's made a lot of money? Tell me again why he is the company whipping boy because of that.

UFC made more with him, it wasn't GSP making 90% of the money and the UFC and other fighters sharing the rest. UFC made Island buying money while GSP made what he deserved. Everyone involved here needs to just get dollar sign contact lenses and get it over with.

1,3,5 for gsp.

He should just hand over the belt and tell them to go fuck themselves. Yes he got arguably a gift decision, big deal so have most of the rest of the roster at one time or another, it ain't shaking his legacy and GSP needs to know that.

Give the belt back and let Dana come begging in a year when his Yacht payment bounces.

If it doesn't matter how Johnny gets the belt it shouldn't matter if GSP walks away with his sanity and health.

This sport is fickle as fuck, man. It's pretty fucking sad, honestly.

I listened to that interview and was pissed.

"He owes this"..."this is the right thing to do".

GSP doesn't have to do anything. He doesn't owe anyone anything. Georges doesn't have to play this game at all. Phone Post 3.0

I kind of liked Johny before this fight. Not so much anymore. I don't like how him or his camp have handled the decision. I'm glad he lost and I hope it continues Phone Post 3.0

MMA Lives Here - Hahaha. So GSP won now guys?

Pathetic. And yes GSP has given a lot to the UFC... and fucking vice versa!! Phone Post 3.0

Considering he went home with his belt, I think he always won?

He won the fight! JH didnt take shit. quit being like dana@! He lost cause he gave it 70% ahahahahaahahah WTF

If your boy hadn't coasted round 5 there would be no discussion.

This. Phone Post 3.0

I was wondering why these people are even talking about a legend like GSP "owing" things when they supposedly only care about the belt, but I suppose they feel they'd make the most money from a rematch w/ PPV percentage, since people likely won't pay much money to see a pair of punchers brawling to see who will briefly be champion before another sloppy, hard puncher takes it or some so-so well-rounded fighters start passing it back and forth.

I just find it very amusing that people are trying to argue that GSP deserved to win now lol. Classic Internet forum fare Phone Post 3.0

The 15000 fans in the arena thought he won too......I heard the pop from section 19 row S......Only after Dana's rant did the forums fill with this rhetoric......oh ya, Hendricks out 6 months, GSP 45 days........damage, how does it work....

You mean Johny's knee popped audibly? What happened/when did it happen?

A respectful manager wouldn't keep crying over his fighter losing a close decision Phone Post 3.0

Maybe by the time the rematch happens they will finally have figured out the VADA/WADA thing too. I was actually a big fan of Hendricks until he and his camp started opening their mouths.. Phone Post 3.0

he's a mma manager, not sayin it's the norm, but a lot of them behave like this.
