With mj calling diaz out how does everyone think this will go down??
I wonder if there will be a lot of smack talk with mj calling him out on Twitter
Btw I'm hopeful that Johnson would be to athletic but I always under estimate diaz
too big a step op for mj so soon imo
nate seems to only want top ranked guys anow anyway, thats why he called out pettis
Johnson has the versatile skill-set to beat Diaz.
If he was more experienced I would favor him heavily. Nate has not evolved much, nor do I think he will. He looks great against one dimensional strikers with mediocre footwork like Miller/Gomi/Maynard, but can't compete against guys who do more than headhunt. Johnson looked very quick in his last couple fights, and with the right game-plan and a little more TDD training to be safe, I wouldn't be at all surprised at an upset.
MJ by decision or late stoppage.
It's a good fight to be made for sure but doesn't necessarily follow the UFC ranking system.
This would be a great fight as Diaz has better striking than Joe and wouldn't be as dependent on his BJJ. The question is whether he can keep Johnson at range because Johnson is a beast once he gets on the inside.
I can't think of how many times I thought someone was too explosive or athletic for Nate, only to watch Nate crush them. For a skinny awkward not very physically gifted athlete, he sure is tough. Johnson has every advantage athletically. Nate is 100% fighter though. Johnson better realize what he is getting into. Beating Nate Diaz isn't as easy as it looks.

VTFU
I've had guys working out at the park who have never trained a day in their lives telling me they could kick Nate AND Nick's ass..
just based on seeing that skinny, awkward, not very physically explosive that you talk about.
looks can be deceiving for sure.
Him calling out pettis is funny when he's lost to Benson and Thompson by head kick so pettis would for sure ko him or leg kick him to death

I remember watching the Ceronne fight live thinking that Cowboy was going to wreck Diaz in the stand up. As a result Diaz sets a UFC record for punching someone.
I thought Miller would take Nate down and pulverize him. That did not go the way I thought.
Lastly I thought Diaz won the last fight with Gray, but this time Gray may KO Nate for a number of reasons. Welcome to Opposite Day.
Nate has a unique ability to take my expectations and completely flip the script.

Nate by sub
I hope that fight happens.
Nate by superior everything and I'll bet on it.

I like MJ, but Nate wrecks him on the feet and he definitely doesn't want to go to the ground with Nate.
I can understand why he called out Nate. He sees a speed and footwork advantage and knows Nate would be more than willing to stand with him. However, what he thinks he sees on film is totally different than what he will experience inside the octagon. Nate by UD or sub.

Nate should be the huge favorite if this fight happens.
MJ needs to work heavily on his sub. defense if he wants to have a shot at beating Nate.
