COMING SOON TO A THEATER NEAR YOU: MICKY AND DICKY, THE MOVIE

According to leading Hollywood publication Variety, Paramount studios will begin shooting a major motion picture release this summer based on the lives of former junior welterweight Micky Ward and his half-brother Dicky Eklund, a former Sugar Ray Leonard opponent who went to jail and then emerged as Micky's trainer. Mark Wahlberg and Matt Damon will star in the movie, reportedly with Wahlberg playing Ward and Damon playing the troubled Eklund. source: variety

I remember seeing Dicky on the HBO special they had on crackheads years back. He lived a pretty messed up life there for while.

their lives are worthy of a movie, but I can't imagine Marky Mark and Matt Damon getting it right

I understood that Micky originally broke his hand, the one that gave him trouble his whole career and caused his mini-retirement, while fighting some cops that were giving his brother some trouble.

I dont think wahlberg is going to be able to pass for a 140lb fighter, or damion for anything but a pretty boy, but we will see.
