This will turn out to be the biggest opportunity for Bellator if there ever was one. With so many big stars unhappy, they could legitimately end up with many marquee fighters when the dust settles. This could be a major turning point.
DalyDentedDecimated'sDome -Sunkist1207 -Hello,
I appreciate and agree with what Miesha is saying but with all due respect, I am somewhat bothered by her wanting to use the "is not fair to WMMA in the UFC" card. Miesha has fought 5 times in the UFC, coached TUF and has had several opportunities to travel overseas to represent the UFC brand and promote fight cards. There are some female fighters who have fought less than Miesha and had less opportunities than Miesha has. With respect, I don't recall her saying any of that was unfair
I am completely disagreeing with your conclusion. She has had lots of of opportunities to make money, yes. But when she says "not fair to WMMA in the UFC, she is speaking on behalf of the voiceless women in the UFC. It's going to suck for them, terribly. And she took advantage of her interview to mention that.
DaleyDentedDecimated'sDome,
I really want to 100% agree with you and its great that Miesha is using this opportunity to speak out for WMMA not having as many fights as the men but it doesnt negate from the points I made in response to VikingKnee. Miesha may not have fought as much as the male fighters but has been given more opportunities than any female fighter not named Ronda to make it up in terms of sponsorship money by making appearances and with all due respect, I dont recall her having any issues with that while most others were on Twitter begging for fights. Sara Kaufmann will more than likely be on the tier below Miesha in terms of the Reebok deal and this is her response.
Definitely need to get more fights booked...according to what counts, I'm only at 6 since 2011...definitely not enough!!
Like JOSEONDO said, I wouldnt be surprised if many fighters move on to Bellator or other orgs if the sponsorship situation in the UFC is not resolved in a manner that will be favorable to the fighters
TDD -Lol it's the thought that counts?Jack Skellington - She's a liar - Joe RoganDon't you mean dana
whooleeo - god dam 90%? either shes exaggerating or zuffa butt fucked her DRY!I wish my name was zuffa
Plain and simple, it just does not pay to enter mixed martial arts right now.
The UFC is practically laying down the red carpet to Bellator. They need to fix this Reebok deal quickly or up the fighter pay by a large margin.

Ray Elbe - Wonder what if fighters in Invicta FC like Cyborg will see an increase in sponsorship opportunitiesThere is a whole load of sponsors who have become homeless so this might be the case.
JimmersonzGlove -This is laughabl,e these women could work at maccy d's and get paid more.DalyDentedDecimated'sDome -JimmersonzGlove - Will esparza be making 2.5k for her next fight? Former champ to 2.5k ouch

Androson_Silva -At least spit you fucking animalswhooleeo - god dam 90%? either shes exaggerating or zuffa butt fucked her DRY!You wouldnt?
Unreal
Each day that goes by the UFC is just looking worse and worse.
Ray Elbe - Wonder what if fighters in Invicta FC like Cyborg will see an increase in sponsorship opportunitiesMaybe, Bellator is the promotion to go... Although they have been madly slow with their 145 lbs. women's division. Two fights so far.
JerodR - The UFC is practically laying down the red carpet to Bellator. They need to fix this Reebok deal quickly or up the fighter pay by a large margin.
But fighters, for such a long time, have acted like complete bitches outside the cage... So Zuffa's probably thinking: wtf are they about to do? They're not going to Bellator.
Miesha should've just come out and said, "If my deal isn't changed before my next fight, I'm just going to finish out my contract and go to a different promotion." Yeah, the UFC would completely yank her post-fight bonuses, but she could hustle outside the cage and make that money back. I mean, these fighters need to stop responding like little bitches. Just look at her statements:
"Honestly, I’m not that excited about the numbers,"
"I think it’s a little bit unfair for Women’s Mixed Martial Arts..."
That's how a soft beta responds and that's why the UFC tried to get away with this Reebok deal. Because why shouldn't they? How can you respect anyone who conducts themselves like these fighters have? They don't need to be angry and emotional, just logical and professional; and they need to attempt to represent their interests.
Bellator is going to profit big time from this if they play it right
GroundStPound -What? Fucking Carmouche made 34k last month on the Mendes/Lamas card when she beat Murphy. I think Pena made 30k that night as well.JimmersonzGlove -This is laughabl,e these women could work at maccy d's and get paid more.DalyDentedDecimated'sDome -JimmersonzGlove - Will esparza be making 2.5k for her next fight? i agree with you on all points.
the question is, will viacom give coker bigger bag to play with? my honestly answer is yes. if bellator wants to become a major player in mma then this is their time to make moves... it also helps that coker has established relationships with alot of the top fighters in the ufc... SF fighters are performing fantastic in the ufc lets not kid ourselves... im sure ex strikeforce fighters like tate would be glad to let their contract run out and at least have a sitdown with coker....
coker stated that they are doing more shows next year so that should definitly raise some eye brows to what he has planned in terms of signings and overall power plays in the coming months..
The other I saw that Hagler was guaranteed 12 million $ vs Leonard... in 1986. The gate was 7.9 million $ and he cleared 19 million when it was all set and done.
These numbers make MMA look like a joke.
