Miesha Tate vs. Valerie Coolbaugh

Miesha Tate (7-2) will be defending her FCF Bantamweight title against “Vicious” Val Coolbaugh (3-3) on January 16th. A relative newcomer to the sport, Coolbaugh jumped right in to the deep end of the pool right away, taking on tough opponents like Sally Krumdiack, Rosi Sexton and Tara LaRosa. She lost to all three, but holds notable wins against Kelly Huehn and Felice Herrig, as well as a 1st round submission win against Linda Cunningham. Tate has a pretty decent record, which is why I’d be far more interested in watching her fight a top-10 opponent. Tate vs. Baszler or even Roxanne Modafferi are fights I’d be more interested in, or even taking on Krumdiack, Sexton and LaRosa as Coolbaugh did with far less experience.

Miesha is signed with StrikeForce and her last fight with them in May was against currently ranked #1 Sarah Kaufman in her weight division, also since she is fighting outside the organisation due to lack of activity in the organisation Im betting they r not permitting her to fight top level competitors outside of StrikeForce, that and Im sure the pay isn't sufficient enough for her to fight those girls outside of StrikeForce, just a thought
